  1. Creative nails, is that like doing acrylics and manicures, or doing nailart?
  2. How about the cadbury chocolates fundraisers? You have to put money upfront, but they do earn an okay return, and they pretty much sell themselves.
  3. Me neither. I have a jungle tank; it happened unintentionally, but I have a problem with all the plants staying put. I really need a deeper sand base, cuz the top 1/3 of my tank is full of floating plants. baby guppies and BN.
  4. If Dixon doesn't want them, PM me. I'll deposit money into your a/c and tell you how to best post them. Once you get rid of the bulk of them, keeping them at acceptable levels is easy.
  5. Our ball was a really fancy affair; more like a debutante ball than a school dance. We did the whole walking down the stairs with our dads to met our dates. It was a really great 'coming of age' ceremony. I absolutely think that it was part of what has made me who I am today; and I think that it allowed us a good passage between having everything done for us, and having to look after ourselves. Sure, there was alcohol involved at the afterball, but because we were well supervised and contained, no one did anything stupid, and we all had a great time that we could remember in the morning. Absolutely worth every penny I spent.
  6. A court won't award $3800 in costs for a mediation. If you're the one who has suffered the loss, even if you loose they'd be very unlikely to award any costs to them. I don't understand why you're not going through the consumer guarantees act if you're having all these problems with them.
  7. I went to a private school and got my dress made for me, it was about $800, shoes were $500, bag, hair, makeup...I don't even know how much, tickets were $150 each. We had an afterball at one of our classmates houses, she hired a band, waiters, bouncers etc. Her parents paid for the people living around them to stay in hotels for the night, so we got crazy drunk and loud and were still partying at 10am. It was really really awesome; totally worth all the money (which I had to pay for myself)
  8. You're better going to the importer if you've had ongoing problems. Your best bet is to sue them for breach of contract; damages will put you in the place you would have been had the breach not have occured - that is, a tank that doesn't leak, replacement of any fish and carpet cleaning. Alternatively you could sue them in tort for negligence; but you won't be guaranteed damages.
  9. Guys! I'm kinda ashamed of us. We combined have enough water to support a small country, or to breed hippos in. I have: 2 x 20l 1 x 90l 1 x 80l 2 x 150l 1 x 150l + 80l sump marine and about 600l worth of snail breeding outside.
  10. It's pretty funny. I laughed so hard I choked.
  11. I generally don't test at all. I will when first setting up a tank, or if there's something wrong that I can't figure out what's causing it. Unless you're trying to breed fish, you're going to see changes in them before you see changes in the pH. And who cares what the pH is (in terms of numbers) as long as the fish are happy? Same with phosphates; I don't are if they're reading as really high if nothing visibly changes in the tank. I'd say nitrites and nitrates - you don't need ammonia, because once the nitrites are gone, then ammonia is too. Nitrates are good to know if you're having any problems, but in reality, the only thing you're going to do if they're high is water changes, and you're not going to be able to do too many, so if in doubt, just change the water.
  12. How many did you end up getting? I've got 2 and need to take some pics and figure out their sexes, maybe we should do a breeding trade.
  13. I'd agree with that. I always do water changes every 12 hrs once the first few eggs hatch to get as much of the meth blue out as I can.
  14. Yay!!!! I'm happy! Keep it up, be patient with them
  15. Puffers. They have so much personality and are so smart and puffy.
  16. Go check out my pufferfish thread in the unusual fish forum. There are fresh, brackish and salt water puffers. Test dwarf puffers are purely fresh water.
  17. Nope, he's big puff. He's just a fatty. He's that fat always. He was really skinny and sad looking when I got him, so I think he's making up for lost time now. He may also have some stones in his tummy, there were 3 2mm pebbles in his tank that have disappeared....
  18. Go to the pharmacy and buy baby nail clippers. If mothers can cut their baby's fingernails, you can cut the puffs teeth. Don't let them die, c'mon, you can do it!!!
  19. His tail looks a bit raggardy! They've got nice looking tummies, keep up whatever you're feeding them. Here are my puffs:
  20. If the teeth are overgrown you have to cut them. If you don't they'll die. There are some great resources online, and on youtube too. They'll be fine without eating for about 10 days, but the smaller they are, the quicker they die. You use clove oil to sedate them. http://www.wetwebmedia.com/FWSubWebIndex/smpufferdentistry.htm I'd try to get their teeth cut ASAP or you'll loose them. To stop it happening again, feed them snails (if you crush them against the side of the tank, they can eat bigger ones) and put their food on top of a rough rock so they have to scrape against the rock to pick up the food.
  21. Well, I'm not celebrating this year because it's too cloudy to see the stars
  22. Angels and Demons isn't good if you read and liked the book. If you didn't, maybe you'll like it more than me
  23. He sure looks happy....
