  1. eww beer. You just need loads of green plants at the back with some red splashes here and there. The wider the tank the better. I really struggle with my tank as it is not 2 ft wide.
  2. Feed them during the day, and they will come out to eat in a while. All of my hypans eat like pigs when the lights are on. The dwarf panaques are the only shy ones, but they still eat.
  3. That really sucks. She was a pretty cool fish.
  4. Thanks, that's a lancelota whiptail female. The male is guarding eggs again. Soon the plants I have planted on the RHS will pop up and then I'll be happy.
  5. It's a phase. It will go away in a while, but I'd do more water changes and reduce the photo-period.
  6. so many options! You'd want plants of-course  so maybe lots of wood and javaferns and anubias? That would be a cool tank with only a few fish in it. Maybe some neon dwarf rainbows and a male apisto agasizzi because it has a red tail and that would stand out among a lot of brown and green!
  7. you can also check using the fins but you'll need a non stunted fish for that. Apart from that females lay eggs, males don't
  8. Just came back from work and have done a MASSIVE change to the tank. Will update when the water clears up, which should be soon. Also will have a MASSIVE PILE of plants for sale
  9. That is so sad to hear. Condolences to his family. John was a great asset to the FNZAS.
  10. Yeah.... you will / the fish will almost certainly have a lot of problems later on.
  11. Both euptera and Nigriventris are here and readily available. As are angelicus, alberti, and a bunch of crosses.
  12. Cold water fish, not on list. Barbs are most likely to be taken off next. There was talk of it a few years ago.
  13. There are a fair few diff species here; all sold as otto cats. They are imported together as ottos, and sold as such
  14. would work the same way, but how are you going to breed those?
  15. It can be tricky, but do not underestimate the aggression between 2 byrans, especially the L047. http://forums.tfhmagazine.com/viewtopic ... 84&t=10876 How many years old is your l47?
  16. Vent sex them, and L47s are terribly stroppy!
  17. I shall hunt around for invoices and lists from the late 90s too. Until recently they sat in the boot of my car.
  18. ouch. Put him in a qt tank with salt and meth blue. Regular water changes and it will heal. The mouth won't grow back though.
