  6. but there is no reflection in a bare bottom tank (not once you shove your head underwater and checked to see if i am lying, lol). lots of people keep them in bb tanks to grow them out etc. No not that i know of. maybe they are exploring?

  14. thought I'd dig this post up again cause winter is once again upon us, and I dont know about you guys - but the water from my garden hose is freezing! brrrr... for a 25-30% WC the temp in a 200L + tank drops from 30C to about 26. here is a great calculator that will dispel all myths and tell you what will happen to the temp of the tank before you do that water change. I find PFK Uk's calculators really useful. for example based on my tank, I use an average of $20 a month in electricity on my 4ft tank, with all that lighting, heating and filtration etc. it gives you a breakdown of what each component uses. have a play with their other calculators too if you like. This one is for the electricity of a tank, you just have to input what it costs you per kWH. eg in my case it is 20.075 cents = $0.20075 http://www.practicalfishkeeping.co.uk/p ... _costs.php
