  1. you didn't get some off me did you romeo? those JBL balls are absolutely fantastic. they provide the correct nutrient for root feeders, and the plant growth is remarkable if they are used correctly. use in conjunction with the correct lighting and CO2 and its a sure shot recipe for great plant growth.
  2. yeah. that venustus looks amazing. good to see they are in a tank that they can swim about like mad. maybe if there were heaps of small schist pieces stacked it would provide shelter for the babies, and then then as they grew there would be more survivors.
  3. lol. thanks stella. there was just so much to do that i just mucked up right at the end. luckily it did not affect the assignment in any way.
  4. electric yellow? you can say that again! he is massive!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :bounce: whoa! what a whopper! those baby fish are bumble bee cichlids? pretty nasty fish arent they? but that front seems pretty content with life and is not eating them?
  5. continue here then. lol. first - nice tank, lol... what is that bright pure yellow fish? judging by the size of those guys im actually surprised that 10% survive! That's amazing!
  6. you sit on msn and chuck numbers at me

  10. I was reading over the thread, to see if it was easy to follow, and then that jumped out the page! Thought I better act quickly before Dixon had a field day with that
  11. That came out wrong. Male BN's look cooler I mean :bounce:
  12. Awesome I have a little boy then. I like the males better any ways. Day 4 now i think and he is eating well and swimming heaps :bounce:
  13. That will most likely have a lot to do with it. Don't worry or stress about it. have a nice hot cup of soup and sleep well tonight. A body's Lymph nodes are like little soldiers that help fight infections. do you have tonsils? if yes, are they red and enlarged? (if you dont know what im talking about then you probably dont have a problem with that).
  14. have wood in the tank?
  15. first thing you should do is take an appointment with a GP. it helps if you are insured, and then can go to a private clinic (or just go private anyhow). are you sure you have pin pointed the correct part of your body? have you had headaches, ENT troubles (ears, nose, throat). problems with lack of saliva.. again no one can really provide a blind diagnosis over the net. but answering these questions will make its easier for your doctor to find out whats going on. have you eaten or had contact with something you may be allergic to? with most node problems - docs do biopsies if they see the need.
  16. that's probably the best of it. if you think that's bad - wait till you get to the airports there.
  17. so hows your lorikeet doing? :bounce:
  18. if they absorbed light you would not see a reflection now would you?
  19. It USED to happen in my S. American setup. That's why I didnt keep them then cause they used to die. This is a whole new tank, unless you put it down to the glass being the same. :-?
  20. no definitely not a good thing but this one seems good. its been a fair few days and he / she is alive and swimming, eating and doing other such fishy stuff which is awesome. :bounce:
  21. shed their whiskers I used to get them, and then all their whiskers would fall off / vanish very depressing
  22. like 5 -6 cm. and this time it came like that, and didn't shed its whiskers in my tank
