  1. 54L. No sharks. No barbs. Definitely no plecos. No fish over 3cm that is not a tetra. Do you like neons, ember tetras, copper tetras, etc? Plant the tank. make it a nano.. rimless nano 1 species of fish.
  2. hi red phoenix. welcome to fnzas. formalin is not contained in melafix, so all is ok. melafix smells nice. cajeput oil, all eucalyptus-eeeee like.
  3. ok. so aquaones are a good tank as a whole. the stands have more space in them for external filters, and stuff. t8 lights that are fine for plant growth, infact it will grow most things like swords, tiger lotus etc. some people like the curved glass. the filters are the weakness of this tank. its like ferrari making a 1.8L 4cylinder car. juwels are newer, parts are more easily available. t5 lights are much brighter, also good for plants. the cabinets are good too, but i wish they were a bit more spacious. the juwel filters are good. use the sponges for as long as you like, and then get rid of them and fill it with media. honestly no one needs those many sponges. toooooo many sponges. then there are the smaller details - toughened glass (I think), black silicone, and they are german made. The colour options are nicer. My personal preference is the dark wood colour. also the covers on the tanks may look and feel flimsy are very very hard to break, they can be bend with ends touching each other. oh you also have 3d background options, hidden heater and that sort of german ingenuity. both tanks will be happier with an external filter. hmm.. i wonder if i have covered all the points.
  4. there is one advertised on trademe, but the pic isnt clear cut so its a bit hard to say. when royals come on the list, usually you get any one of the available types at random, so the odd one may pop up. I had one of these for eg.
  5. so peaceful! I was just about to ask you who ross was and then i read the other posts

  9. did you really? is was so pretty!
  10. and you can sue them for malpractice. most suits gets settled out of court after signing a non disclosure statement or the like.
  11. clown plecos. get a group and let them form natural groups and you are on your way. L067's are another option. most other plecos need a long time to mature.
  12. An oscar would be nice. Very friendly fish like little puppies I think you should put some more plants in the tank. thin out some of the barcopa and re plant it; same with the hygrophillia. then you can get some cardinals or neons.
  13. well if i have a hissy fit and refuse to sign the papers in the worst case. no one will be moving in
  14. yeh. it'll most likely be your plecos. those eggs were from a leopard frog pleco.

  18. hello wanganui-ins  I want to get a pair of juli. transcriptus's off a member here, and he will be passing through wanganui this friday I think it is. any one able to hang onto the fish till the next trip to palmy? many thanks!
  19. its just tatty. leave him be and he will be fine. watch out for other fish that may eat his fins.
  20. WELL..... The only way to know for certain is for me to come over and take those nasty plecos out the tank. then if the unsightly eggs stop appearing in the tank you know it was them. If the mystery eggs still appear in the tank, at least you know those horrible plecos won't eat the eggs and then you can figure out what did lay the eggs.
  21. poke your ear near it and see what is making the noise

    FIN ROT

ok so sometimes serpaes in particular, come in to shops with frayed edges on their fins - much like long fin congo tetras. it is not really fin rot. so I'd say take some pics for us and post them up. it may spare you the hassle of treating the tank or fish.
