They merely convert the ammonia into the less/ non toxic form. The chemical process for cycling still occurs, but is slowed down. HTH

why did you do a half dose? do a full dose and use salt as well. you may raise the temp to 30 deg C as well

couple of fish fulls in a 180L tank should be good. I don't usually do ratios, but with every 50L water change i put in 2 fist fulls with my big hands. :lol:

There is something v v suspicious about that white spot...its almost not like ich Is it on the rest of the body as well? chuck a load of salt in the tank and watch as your loaches come out to play in it :lol:

its not the size of the post, its the sheer volume and force of the water that kills. I remember seeing the 2004 tsunami that killed thousands. we were v v v high in an apartment, and it didn't look that bad until we saw the destruction that ensued...

if you paid 20 bucks or near that it is a gold spot. if you paid 180+ it is a gold nugget :lol: i have a gold spot too. all it seems to do is hide. even the fancier plecos come out to play and eat but all the gold spot does is hide. i find they do well in large numbers as small fish. they get nutty when they are larger though.

dixon your 405 didn't have those parts to start off with! yes. true ira. they are expensive, bu i suppose I think they are worth it. but hey you can now sell your 404 or keep it as a backup

Most if not all living organisms need sunlight. Survival and all. im sure fish absorb something or the other from light, that's what makes pond guppies so bright and healthy looking!
