  9. eww. no. i think ill get some other ones then. next time i should read before buying.
  10. well aren't you just the budding optimist? LOL it is a little w even in their 125w the w is little. ___ Sam, I don't even know any more. the colour is very yellow. actually the box says its 2700K. im an idiot. no good for plants then?
  11. at countdown in palmy. I presume its a nationwide thing. The Warm white 24W bulbs are only $4 down from $8 or $9. 24W in this energy saver = 125W of normal bulb light. They are 6500K I am lead to believe and are good for plant growth. On another note, I noticed that they write 24w with the "w" in small letters which is wrong. It should be 24W in capitals.
  12. I think its the male peacock.
  13. That does not look like a red whiptail to me The red ones retail for about 60 bucks but are plain brick coloured. No patterns or anything like yours have. The royals are about 37 bucks or so. both of yours look reddish but have patterns which the reds I have seen don't have
  14. that demasoni you have is really really nice! (you do need to copy the "img" codes for the pics to appear here though). are you going to get more dems?
  15. if you are confident that your filtration is a lot more than what is recommended (recommended = at least 3-4 times the volume of the tank per hour) (I for instance filter about 20 times the volume of my tank in an hour on average) then you can go away on holiday for a while without worrying too much. I know when I go on holiday (which is usually for 3 months over summer) - there is no one to take care of the tank, but because of the filtration, and the abundance of plants (old tank) - The tank would happily handle about 1 or 2 small water changes over that period. water would be added as it evaporated. It is advisable to remove any carbon for periods over 4-6 weeks. try getting "purigen", but i think most of the "zorb" products work for well over 2 months without needing attention. If your external filter is an eheim - see if you can train someone how to qucik clean the cannister filter without having to disassemble the whole thing. - it involves disconnecting the output pipe, from in-between the filter and the tank (where the joint should be if it is assembled correctly); and then running the filter as normal into a big bucket until most of the gunk comes out. It literally takes 2 minutes. (*imagines whetu saying "see now you can't do that in a fluval 04-05 series").
  16. if you still have bio chem zorb in your filter, it will remove any medication. it is essentially a mixture of other things, and a very very high grade carbon.
  17. yes. diplomacy and the ability to not pass judgement instantly and vocally are not in my genes I don't think. at least you have them now. are the cockatoos tame or aviary?
  18. cockatoos? what sort of monster was this person?
  19. I just use spirulina flakes, nutrafin cichlid sticks (spirulina again) hikari arowana pellets, and cichlid gold.
  20. just take the capsule, open it by twisting it gently. (hold it from the round parts, as those are the strongest bits). put the contents into a glass something or the other, add some warm water, and presto. That's how I do it. and have never got any furan on my hands, and i work with the stuff all the time. HTH
  21. rather watch shorty any time..

    Furan-2

dramatic muchly? you have nothing to worry about. that "scientific" paper is anything but - too much emotive language. (everything causes cancers these days). you should be petrified of developing cancer by second hand smoke and being stuck by lighting all at the same time
