yeah, its perfectly fine.
It takes them a few goes to start rearing the babies.
youll get wrigglers - they will eat them - a few goes of that, and they'll start taking care of the babies.
mine spawned this arvo as well.
was about to update that.
All the embryos died today I think. couple of ok ones, but i think ill let the parents do the care taking next time.
I think the eggs might be light sensitive.
Nothing in that price range beats a Rhinox. Just because you think they don't look good , doesn't mean they are not good.
They are fantastic value for money and won't be beaten on performance.
That floating bag method is not acclimatisation.
The most important part of the process is the gradual acclimatisation of the fish into the new water; so that relates to the water conditions and not necessarily the temp.
At least you know now; I have lost many hundreds of dollars worth of fish even after long periods of acclimatisation.
I've been looking an installation sets too
ill be calling up the supplier this week and talking to them and if I like the price ill get it locally.
if not - http://cgi.ebay.com/EHEIM-16-22mm-INSTA ... 230752c38e
20 quid delivered is not bad. Won't even have to pay for it in NZD
What Eheim parts are you looking for specifically.
They are quite expensive, but any NZ retailer can get them in. Absolutely everything is available.
ebay is another good place.
lol well the second pic makes me certain that the fish is not 100% euptera. crossed with something but who knows what.

Tank looks good though; bit sad about this part -
That fat one looks like it has dropsy. Others seem fine though.
Point your spray bar upwards to create more water flow at the top. That should help with heavy breathing.
