  1. yes but its best to keep the seperate types seperate so that we have a gene pool of true fighters in NZ rather than a mix of everything and poor quality going around.

  9. yeh aparently the aro went agro, killed the gourami and then smashed the lid and died on the floor. they were both very impressive fish. I miss them
  10. The male may be too small to do the whole sqeesing thing, I had a male who had great trouble when the female was keen to go (so to speak lol).
  11. if you have photoes to ID them, and they cannot prove ownership eg where they bought it exc you should be ok. Maybe get a friend who "is interested in buying" to insprct them and take a pic or two? and take it from there? seems crafty and sligh, but IMO they are more crafty steaLING A FAMILY PET/MEMBER!        GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

  14. cool sounds easy, I thought we would have to go and buy a big flash thingy lol. what would I use to keep the tank at 30 degrees? do you meen have a heater in the water and let the humidity keep the heat up in there or something else? cheers
  15. and if so how much would one of them cost?
  16. oh ok, we dont have an incubator. I was just wondering if they were left to their own devices in the right conditions if the eggs would hatch or not... (for next time). or if you def need to get an incubator?
  17. our big female laid 6 eggs the other day. their enclosure outside doesnt have sand or anything in it at the mo so the eggs will be no good. we are building a wee ramp so she can lay eggs in a dirt pile this weekend. any advice? also do you need an incubator to rais young?
  18. I dont think it was this type of fish guys, the ones I saw were about 2 or 3 inches long and very slender. Perhaps their fry...
  19. I was at Karipero lake the other day with the bucket and net. We caught some small shrimp, muscles, what I think must have been a bullies (not too familiar with the native fish). But one thing I did see which I thought was odd was a school of slim silver fish with red faces/heads… there were mosquito fish in there too so I didn’t get mixed up or anything lol. Anyone seen these guys before? They were rite up by the shore but way too quick to catch!
  20. my spiney eel ate all the neons on our tank and he is only like 10-12cm long, always wondered why he was sooooo fat

If not thats all good mate it good to see that you are doing so well with the HM's! mark
