the albinos are cool, yeh red eyes and a more pinkey/white colour than the golds (pritty crappy description lol) Yeh I am hoping my boys can handle her, Iv never actualy seen a female as big as her lol. I use to breed the kribs, def one of the most rewarding to breed. Such good parents! except when they kill their partners tho... I got a couple of small albinos prob around the 4 cm mark that you can have for free if you want a couple to grow out?

  9. Have looked on the net and found alot of info and these guys seem awsome! If any experts out there could give advice on setups exc that would be great. Also where I could get a trio? Never see them in the LPS. Thanks Mark
  10. when the only thing you look at on trademe is the fish section and then hop onto thwe FNZAS for a few hours haha
  11. They are both naughty and tease each other, but the cat is generaly the winner lol. however when its an open space and shees being meen to him all bets are off haha
  12. I managed to get off an auction on tm, 3mm 60cmx60cm for $8 a sheet. Did the job well
  13. he has settled down well at home now, had a few rough nights away from his old home but having a great time exploring and battling with the cat.... I called him MAX, I know its not an original name but a name I have had for my imaginary GS for years lol. xxdarnixx I got him form a guy in Hamilton, he breed it with a white alsatian and a normal girl. He has white paws lol
  14. sacreblue lol Those long fins look soo cool man! Will be looking to get some later this year once all the fish and tanks are going well, and when my girlfriend wont kill me for buying yet more fish haha
  15. lol no i dont want an argument either, seperate tanks it is haha They are all beautiful and interesting fish regardless of L# and genetic arguments
  16. but I thought if they were both recesive genes then the dominent (brown would not be present)??? 7th form bio is a bit rusty these days hahaha
  17. wow that is soooo cool man!!!! Driving home from work (around 12 at night/morning) there are lots of gold bells (big adults) hopping around the streets next to the lake lol. tempted to stop and catch them, but always too tird lol
  18. wow realy that is not what you would expect!!
  19. I know the inbreeding with other speciese is a nono and I agree fully. This thread is not intended to cause an argument. just interested in knowing if the albino bristlenoses are albinos of the GBA, and in which case is it acceptible to breed the two together? and if they did would they not mostly come out as GBA's? Advice is needed as I will have a mix soon and if there is an issue will need to split/swap. Mark
  20. yeh I thought that was the case, they wont eat them tho? There would be a way round them if they were between large rocks or something like that?
  21. I have had kribs and rams with these guys & had everyone breeding. Have a 1.2m,45cm,45cm tank that I wanted to have a colony of yellows and a breeding group of gbas. I have read that the water conditions need to be up there for these cichlids... Will I be able to have plants or will they distroy them?
  22. you know how fresh water gish dont realy have that 'fishy' smell?... Sounds like a dumb thing to say lol. But he had a real strong smell like snapper or something you would go fishing for. he jumped out and i had to pick him up from behind the tank, while he struggled and slapped my face lol. he was fine, just a few missing scales
  23. Im happy, just bought 6 of these guys (4 females and 2 young) just need a male and I will be back into breeding them. Bristlenoses are still by far my fave fish, full proof haha
  24. haha yeh, go for a bit tank. I still have terrible nightmares moving our 70cm aro from tank to tank (after he smashed the glass in) Very smelly to move aswell....
  25. I know what its like to have a new born baby, but if you are selling something at that price, mearly repeating that she GUARANTEESSS it isnt realy appropriate... I hope she goes to a nice home
