My camera isn't the best or i just don't know how to use it properly :oops: It looks like there is lots of little glow worms on the background where the light reflects the bubbles in the algae. if only i could take decent photos, they look so much better in person.

There has been 2 power cuts in the last 6 months here and one was in the night and i woke up when it went off because of the tanks turning off lol. i then lay there waiting for it to turn on, 2 hours later i checked the temps on the tanks, only dropped 2degs hour later power back on. bigger tanks hold heat for a while so was lucky. went back to sleep :lol:

I know there are people on here that just look but don't post and ive met a few people around here with fish that aren't on here (and i tell them to check the forum out when i meet them) Exactly how many southlanders are there on this forum? Just wondering as i only know of 5 including me :-?

lol Always had pets growing up in a small town. usual house pets, wild animals(possums,rabbits,dear,pigs), ponds, trout tanks, bullie tanks, magpies, hedgehogs, that many different ones i couldn't remember them all. parents eventually had enough of them all and we weren't allowed any more for a while. When i had my own place i was at the LPS one day with the mrs getting some rabbit stuff i think, and quite liked a cichlid that i seen, brought a few of them and got the old tank out of the olds garage roof and set it up. fish died a month or so later, i was sooo gutted as i loved em so much. so i got thinking. done heaps of research, learnt a lot of info, no thanks to the LPS AT ALL! stumbled across this forum, many tanks and hundreds of fish later... all is good

There is heaps bacteria in the gravel but it should be fine as you have your existing filter media and you arn't going to be overloading the tank with fish.

Ok so i think i will look at getting the 300W jager, hopefully it fits.

I have 400 long, 300 wide & 200 high for space but if i put it on an angle it might fit. how long is the element or how much of the 500mm heater do i need to have in the water? I also have spear 150W & 200W heaters that will be going in as a backup the 1st heater costs more than the jager. cost is nothing to me for my fish, im more after something that is going to be more efficient but don't want to buy something thats not going to fit or not reliable. This is true but i was looking forward to an equipment free look on this tank. How ever if the jager doesn't fit then it may have to go in the tank

Ok so I've got 800ltrs to heat up and keep at around 25deg. What to do....? Anyone have any advice on what i should go for or if there is something better to heat my tank. Thanks.

I was on woosh, the broadband wasn't great and it kept cutting out and the router kept needing reset and they would never do anything about it. I am now woth telecom. when i first set the account up, the phone was going within 48hrs, the broadband was suposed to be going the day after the phoneline. one week later, still not goin. i ring to ask whats going on. they say the guy had to come check the lines but didn't know what lines to check because there is 2 flats on the property every property in my street has one house on it and there isn't any flats in the area. i don't know where the guy went but it wasn't to my house! another week later still not going, i ring again and they say the guy needs to get into the house. so i sort out a time. 10 days later, he comes when im home and is inside for 30seconds. he says... "yep... its not going. must need to be switched on at our end" this is where i get angry. they could of switched it on in the first place 3 weeks ago! i again ring up, i managed to get double my bandwidth. so i just downloaded 20GB of movies in the last week i had for that month to use the 20GB. :roll:

or maybe i should paint a fish on the painting somewhere and maybe it could pass lol. It feels a lot safer, and I find everyone, on here is more trustworthy than TM.
