Its only been a week and its pretty much looking the same. the anubias has started to grow a few more leaves. and the guppies are everywhere. I will post updated photos if when i get the some more plants in there this week hopefully.
I have Holdson puzzel fixative that i use, i get it from model and craft shops, usually around $10.00 a bottle (100ml) i think from memory i did 2 puzzel with one bottle.
haha yea he was running around worrying and not knowing what to do
We think one of the bigger catfish in it may have knocked around in the tank. The tank was eventually going to get a centre brace.
lol your welcome.
Was roughly 200litres of water i think.
What a mess, sand all through the carpet in the bedroom, out into the hallway and into the lounge, linen cupboard etc.
Its going to take a while to dry that carpet out.
I pulled my smaller plant tank to pieces to transfer the plants and found 65 baby bristlenose under a rock, what a bonus
This is what i have so far, I am thinking I need to cut the log down so it is not so high because it takes up a lot of room.

Now i just need another light and some plants to grow up the bak wall and in the foreground :bounce:
Thanks to P44, i have a plant layout ready to be put together
because of my lack of plant knowledge, does anyone have any ideas or comments on the layout?
Wow, nice. Hopefully you can breed them, I need some more. Another one of mine died the other day The more dominant one slowly pick off all 3 others, most likely all the same sex unfortunately. Even in a 700ltr tank
it will look natural and interesting if you make it that way. Its up to you how you scape your tank. african cichlids are suposed to be kept in big groups as that is how they are in the wild.
Yellows will look good in a planted tank if you make it look good with logs and a few rocks. a planted tank is not their natural biotype so it might not look as natural as you want it.
Check out my tank i did with wood, plants and rocks, (it also had white sand which can make the plants look brighter) just for an idea.
