  1. Hi danval I think that p.maccus (clown plec) would be a nice one to start with, they have heaps of personality and are pretty cheep. They will be mature at around 5 cm (TL) Easy to sex, and are small.. Cheers
  2. No algae in that tank :bggrn: They don't get as big as a bristlenose. Cheers
  3. Good on ya Nav :bggrn:
  4. At least 5. The oldest ones must be a year old by now.
  5. That sucks Nav :cry1: &c:ry
  6. JBL: Novo Fect, Novo Pleco, Novo Tab and Novo Tabbis. Hands down.
  7. I can believe that. The modern costs to get fish to our islands are quite disturbing
  8. They must have been having a joke or something? Zebs have never been that cheep, even in the good ole USA :bggrn:
  9. I think that I will just stay a bit confused. The small print at the bottom of the image implies that the image is taken off a website catalog for Lee'sPets.com and is for a weekly special for the week 2 November 2017 in the category of catfish. Which does not help your point that the price of some fish has skyrocketed in recent years. It is correct though that some prices go up, and some come down. Cheers.
  10. Still be hard pressed to sell them here for that. If they worth $2.50 in the shops, then should be able to buy them for $0.10 Still, by November 2017 they will most likely be pretty close to extinct.
  11. That is correct, the hump on the forehead is more pronounced in one of them. Cheers
  12. Yup, they were really really expensive, and then suddenly they were only 1/10th of the price, I think the fishery was opened, or another fishery discovered???
  13. Not yet, but well done spotting that so quickly.
  14. Nah, in front of the fish tanks, I like a large and captive audience that doesn't heckle.. :bggrn: :rotf: nor understand a word of what I'm saying.... Blah blah blah
  15. 4 or 5 days of double water changes, and might work on my little talk for the conference.....
  16. But US$5-600 is ok as a year or so ago they were US$5-10,000 (Unless of course you forgot a 0 David? Cheers
  17. Actually it's 'L - it really is on the allowed list' But it does not have an L number as it is scientifically described, but if lotto was kind to me, it would be imported.

  21. well perhaps they have been more busy that I thought...... The tank Mum and some fry 3cm fry
  22. Hi, They continue to spawn every 3 weeks or so. There are 1/2 a dozen or more little ones scooting around. They are still amazingly bad at keeping the young alive, although they always manage to hatch the eggs. I really think it is the 2nd male that is doing the damage. Cheers
  23. Or L029, or L007 Or perhaps even something that is on the allowed list? A dark fish with white spots hopefully.
