  6. That reminds me of a story the first time I went to the UK, back in the early 90's. My dad loaned me his old crappy film camera. I took heaps of photos. There was a significant amount of partying, which is an important point. It was a film camera, so it was hard to check the pictures, and the film without exposing the film. It always seemed to have plenty of shots left, and I didn't really remember changing the film. It wasn't until I got back home that I did figured out that the back of the camera kept popping open and resetting the counter, needless to say there were no photos......
  7. Status Update: Saturday 6:49am (NZ): Doing a water change (I have not gone yet) ..........
  8. Technically this adventure should be called, KrazyGeoff goes to Europe .......... again. But that sounds kind of a bit "show off" like. Although if I was going to show off, I would call the adventure Nah, Nah, Nah Nah, Nah, I'm going to Europe and you're not! So, why am I even writing this post? Well 'cause I'm going to Europe, and you're not! :bggrn: Seriously though, it time for the 3rd international L-Number days convention. This conference is held every 2 years, in Hannover - Germany. I went last time, and it was pretty cool to have a catfish immersion weekend, although to be honest it didn't make the most of it, as I was taking some really nasty antibiotics that made me feel like I was pregnant (according to some ladies that I described how I was feeling to), and one of the other side effects was that the soles of my feet kept swelling up, so that it felt like I was wearing "sketchers shape up" shoes, even though I was in bare feet. On reflection, to say that I didn't make the most of it is a bit of an understatement, but anyway........ Last time it was pretty cool to actually meet some of the folks that I "hang out with" on Planet Catfish, and some other folks too. This year there are some more people that I know from Planet Catfish who are going so I am quite looking forward to meeting them too. The inspiring thing, well the thing I thought was most inspiring, was the people who were the speakers. The authors of all the best catfish books that I have read as part of my journey into catfish, were the primary speakers at the conference. So you get an idea of the quality of the conference. This year there are over 160 participants, from 14+ countries, so as far as catfish conventions go it is a big one. Due to the fact that most of the participants are German it is a bilingual conference, so the speaker says some stuff, and then the translator repeats the stuff in either German or English, depending on what language the speaker is talking in. It made it quite interesting. This year there will be one talk that I know I will be able to understand as I am presenting a talk on breeding pleco's in New Zealand. It will be a fishy adventure. The plan at this stage is to leave NZ, and then get to London, for a night. The next day it's on a train and off to Crewe, to visit Rare Aquatics https://www.rareaquatics.co.uk Nick, the owner, knows I'm coming and my camera is fully charged. I'm also meeting Jools, owner of Planet Catfish, there and he is taking me up to Wigan to see Pier Aquatics. Then it's up to Scotland for a couple of days to hang out with Jools, at the centre of the planet. After than it's off to Hannover for 4 days to go to the conference, and then I am off to Paris for 3 or 4 days. So it's going to be a bit of a zoom zoom kind of trip, but there is a big water change waiting for me at home, so there is no time muck around. You could Follow me on twitter, but I don't have a twitter account! You could follow me on Facebook, but I don't have a Facebook thingy either. I will try to keep this post updated as the adventure progresses. I obviously can't do Facebook status updates, so I might do "fish book" status updates, right here! Until the first update then..........
  9. You could try one of these? http://www.airpumps.co.nz/index.php?mai ... cts_id=108 Not sure of the noise as I have not fired my one up yet.........
  10. I thinks you mean Peckoltia sp. L140 I know, only $400.00 each, how ridiculously cheap is that! Unbelievable.
  11. Fair call, On the 270 the lighter stripe is usually less than 1/2 the width of the darker stripe, where the 140 has a same sized band of light and dark. Cheers
  12. That fry is the same as the adult, which is a big band?
  13. There are actually 3 loaches, so they did a mighty job of that. The loaches have now discovered what I assume to be the spawning site, so there may not be many more babies.. Cheers

  15. The videos are still uploading............
  16. 2 hours and 100's of fuzzy pictures later....... Nothing. But tonight, I got a video. When I find my youtube password, I will load it up. They are about 1.5 cm, but only one came out to play....
  17. These cats have about as much chance of finding the pandas as I do of getting a picture of them. But in the spirit of being good spirited, I'll give it a go tomorrow, with a picture of how the tank looks today ( well tomorrow actually)
