  1. Well I have seen them being raised and then killed by MAF when they raided my mates place. Did they not get here in the first place as a result of mistaken id from the importers? It certainly looks GM to me and the image he used is tagged as a longfin glow fish from google. I would love to know the scientific name if it has one stir stir
  2. http://www.google.co.nz/images?hl=en&so ... =&gs_rfai= There was/is a few types. Orange seemed to be very common.
  3. Yes it is the gm type crossed with a zebra longfin. Trust me I have seen them before.
  4. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Home-living/Pe ... 619187.htm Some people never learn. MAF raid for that man.
  5. I need to have a look round I think. I'm away this weekend so that will give me time to research the following week.
  6. Back to the original off topic. Off hand are there any around now on the wholesale lists that are dwarf and poo less then others?
  7. Ah my MRS works for Telstra so at the mo it is free as we are testing there tivo/my sky. It's good. Perhaps with the money we are saving I should buy a fancy plec or three for my dwarf puffer tank.
  8. Cool I might have to get me one I have only ever had plain old Bristle nose. Turn on Discovery now if you can there are monster catfish "River Monsters"
  9. Do any of those fancy plecs come is dwarf size? I did see a Moth cat fish a few weeks back that I liked it reminded me of a Banjo catfish. You know it's there but hardly ever see it.
  10. I have found thread fin pretty soft and more $ then http://www.apoon.com/furcata.htm I love my little furcata and gurtude rainbows :bounce:
  11. furcata and gertrude. about $5 each at redwood I love mine they are active and contrast nicely with the CPD's and dwarf chain loches
  12. I'll jump on the band wagon of lateness too. I'll be there about 6.
  13. I like them. They would be the only angel I would ever want to own. Pity they will not be aloud here. I don't see them being any different to a fancy betta. well except you can see them in the dark
  14. Very nice. I do like the big male Crabro, took me 3 veiws to see him so many great examples of species.
  15. Cheers. There is heaps more to do the nice t&g background is all class. can you see the Java moss on the drift wood with the wendolov stuff. I still want to find more Java fern for the other log.
  16. Gutted. On a brighter note my puffer tank replant started today should have it finished buy the end of the week. Moss wall and more star grass to come plus a few terracotta pots. There are 5 puffers 1-2 males they are still small, The betta is just there to eat the left over worms.
  17. I used a carbide hole saw and made 40mm holes in the side of pots like that for my old set up they looked cool all stacked up. I'll dig up some pics. The drilling was not easy broke a few.
  18. To small that is tiny. Did you mean 1 square cm? Thanks for the thought but.
  19. Cheers all. I have done heaps of research on how to do them and wrote to a dude in the states about his he found the fly screen took forever to grow in and was patchy(why I bailed on the whitebait mesh). The gutter guard is good but it only gets sold in strips. I'll try a craft and garden shops this weekend. I must have burned $30 in gas last weekend on my search.
  20. Hi All, Just wondering if anyone has made a moss wall? If so where did you get the plastic mesh from I have been to bunnings,miter10, para, payless plastics and a plastics factory. I have some zinc whitebait mesh but I don't think it will work well to smaller holes. I wont mesh about 8-10mm and plastic. If anyone knows where I can find some please tell me. cheers
  21. I'm stoked we have Trout and Salmon here :bounce: . They are good to eat and great to catch . Some natives may have suffered but if you can look at the big picture they are worth more to the people of NZ then a few inga and bullys. Not to say our native fish should not be protected and valued. Trout and Salmon have there place here as do Deer,Thar,Chamios and Pigs. They just need to be managed. I kept Trout with goldfish when I was a kid they grew fast and killed some of the goldfish so I took hem back to the creek and let them go.
  22. Wow you got otto's to breed that is very hard to do well done, have a search on that topic. Well done . I could only find a few examples of this befor.
