Yes seven free puffers is mint as. I hope you can raise them and tell us about it. I'm wondering how the f/w puffers would go on those little water boat man things they have a shell so they would be crunchy. :lol:

I bought 4 of these little guys today. They seem to school up. I'll change the tank to suit them once I evict the rest of the pearl Danios. I plan to add about another 4 to this 250L tank.

You the man breakaway!!! Makes Me want to convert my random dannio 4 footer to a puff tank. Do you think they would get lost in a big tank? Seems most keep them in smallish tanks

Crazy by 16 you will have a firearms license and be able to drive but not buy gold fish. I do hope LFS exercise common sense when selling any animal to any person. I sure they would.

If it was me I would do a smaller tank 250-300L with smaller/schooling species but do it well. All quality gear good/bulk lights,substrate and Ehiem. Your set up would last for years and it would be small enough to take with you when you leave home that way it's like your giving to your family too. Just hope you have been good or you might end up with goldfish :lol:

This does not surprise me. Has happened twice in Christchurch since xmass. Although at one they stole phone and laptop from fish room not fish. I had two lots of trademe customers come to my house and buy fish to tell me they only wanted the fish to breed and sell for profit. I laughed and said what profit. But I bet that is the idea in the head of your dirty sneak thieve Adodge. As a locksmith I feel I can say if people see something as having monetary worth then they will steal it. Also more people are committing crime now days unfortunately I see this on the rise as cost of living goes up. I finally sold all my fish I breed for less to shops and was much happier and less paranoid for it.

They are coming out of a 250l. I plan on having about 200 danio so the loachs gotta go.

They hassel my small danios so they have to move. Do you think they AR380 is to small for 3 they are about 110mm long at the most. The tank is just for them.

Ok I have a 100mm Bengal Loach that I can't catch. There was 3 I managed to trick the other 2 with food but this last one is too smart for the inverted coke bottle trap. The tank has a lot of plants and I want him out not the plants. does anyone have any trap ideas his or her mates are waiting in a new AR380.

Hi All, I have a 250L 4 foot tank with low lighting (2 tubes) I don't want to add more lighting I will change tubes but no new hood. The tank has pool filter sand and a large ship ornament no plants. It is home to some Africans at the mo but I have decided I need a change. I dont want to add any other substrate or lighting to make it a hard out planted tank (I'm working on one in another room) or get rid of the meter long ship wreck as my other half gave it to me. I once had a target puffer he was pretty cool but mean and sneaky I suspect if I put one in a tank like this I would never see him. But I do miss that fat little guy. So any ideas for a change. I still have to find a home to my cichlids first.

Do you have these danios?

Thanks adodge. Looks like I will have to keep trying. I might try marbels and java moss next time. I'll be stoked if I get some fry as these little guys are cool and challenging to breed. Or they are for me.

They look very similar I got mine from Redwood but Organisms has them also.

Nannostomus unifasciatus - One-lined Pencilfish. They are the common one that retails for about $7.90 I think the image should work.

The low numbers might be the problem. I can't seem to find to much info about successful breedings. I might try again with moss in the tank. They are odd wee fish I hope I can manage to spawn them.

Cheers adodge The moss might encourage the event a little further then star grass mops.

They get right into the plants upside down tight next to each other and jiggle. I have never been able to see the business end of things they are very watching private fish. It kinda makes me seem like a fish perv 8) I looked for eggs today but it has been 7 days since the jiggling was observed. I did not want to knock them from the spot that the parents had chosen so I left the mops intact till today. Do you think they are just firing blanks for the fun of the jiggle? :bounce:

Has anyone managed to hatch Rocket Pencil Fish. I have a pair that only hang out together that I have seen spawn a few times in the main tank. So I set up a smaller tank with Star Grass mops and sure enough they spawned and she looked thinner. I have peered into the tank for hours over the last week but seen nothing. Is there something I have done completely wrong. I did not expect hundreds of tiny fry but I did think I would see at least some fry/eggs. I'm expecting them to look like danio fry first day or so. Any help or ideas as always is appreciated.

Is there any trick to getting rid of duckweed? Or should I just keep netting it up?

I got a pair of panther today there was only one female in the shoal. I also picked up a pair of kyathit danio this weekend. They fit right into the tank and school with the Glow light(choprae),Zebra rerio and pearls. I cant wait for the CPD's to arrive they will be the main school. In what I guess has become a danio themed tank.
