The male now appears to be quite aggressive towards the female... Would it be advisable to remove her?

Same as what Sophia said but also if it is a fledgling and it seems well enough get it back into a nearby tree so the adults can find it. The longer you leave it the less likely the adults will accept it back. Good luck

Saw these today... beaut little fish, look like Scarlett Badis. $20 each which I thought was a reasonable price.
