  1. mudskippers come in from time to time though i havent heard about any for a while as for crabs while im not sure i havent ever heard of any tropical crabs being imported except full on marine ones
  2. after reading all these comments it seems to be luck of the draw
  3. are you going to dry brush it with a lighter colour or is this the finished product LA?
  4. i have a fluval 104 thats normally pretty quiet but its sucking a bit of air and im too lazy to pull it apart and sort out the o-ring so i jam a thin pillow over it at night (its right by my bed !) ive found aqua1 cannisters to be pretty quiet if its noisy its not working right
  5. spoon

    T5 Powerglo's

so p44 means those adaptors above wont work for you as they are t5 not t5HO or t5VHO
  6. just eat them they definatly arent fly agaric ones so whats the worst that could happen
  7. i seen one on the net using open core foam like whats in a sponge filter
  8. yeah you can get pretty small ones http://www.gcnz.com/hollyfalls.html this sort of thing although im sure you can find something a lot cheaper some are fibreglass so reasonably light as well
  9. perhaps a small garden pond and waterfall would work for you?
  10. im sure organism has it give them a ring
  11. ive got my marine fish back and i lost about 4l of water which happened to go mostly on the power box so quickly un plugged it after the shaking stopped and wiped it down and she was all good frog tank and other tank had no spillage. cat has only just come home though
  12. any black spray paint will be fine could use an epoxy if u really wanted to be sure
  13. good quality fake plastic plants can be used with good effect i used aqua 1 xl anubias in this tank viewtopic.php?f=13&t=40235&p=450657&hilit=african#p450657 along with driftwood and rocks if it gets to covered in algae just boil it and put it back in the fish will clean it in no time
  14. it will be fine the actual flow of the filter will not be anywhere near 1200lph (i think this is calculated at zero head and without media) the increased size of the filter will be great for biological media to do its job . if you did find it was blowing your fish around too much just turn the outlet tap down a wee bit but to be honest i dont think it will be a problem working at full capacity
  15. couple of pygmy cories and plants that grow right out of the water
  16. ive seen thouse corner type filter filled with aquarium gravel as a biological media in the backroom of a lfs so perhaps bio noodles would be good in there
  17. have friends in forestry that push the limits of these saws they need it
  18. lightening- by enslaved quite an uplifting, epic progressive norwegian viking metal song http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qO7V5Q_S ... re=related
  19. i also reccomend stihl even over a husky the after sales support is wicked and you can get allsorts of options for them if you were only going to use it once a month then a ryobi would be fine but for every weekend (or everyday )use nothing seems to last as long as a stihl
  20. this is for that school project isnt it? if you have a limited budget you dont want to be playing around with nsealers or resins(not to mention it being messy) perhaps someone in your area would like to show your friend how to cut glass as its quite cheap (compared to perspex) someone may even donate some unwanted glass for the project . or cut and glue plastic salvaged from something else got to be easier and more professional looking than trying to seal polystyrene
  21. i wouldnt bother you will have a hard time making it waterproof , . you would be better off designing the whole thing around a suitable plastic container
  22. yeah aqua1 are good , cheap and reliable
  23. wont hurt a bit may even be better for them 8)
  24. giant gouramis jump especially when they are trained too ask loopy
