i hatched them my self by putting the eggs in a small container floating in one of my tanks. The eggs didn't have a air stone so only hatched out mayb 1/3 the eggs that were laid. once hatch tho iv only lost 3 fry.

yep I have been bow fishing before for koi at chelsea sugar refinery and in mercer. its good fun.

i have noticed this on my female ram a couple of days ago. it is only on one of her nostrils and seems to follow the nasal passage. Anyone have ideas of what is may be on how to treat it.

paradise fish, they are cold water can live in a rice paddy so they are pretty hardy. if you buy smaller one then you get to watch them colour up. plus if you get a pair and a little more effort you can breed them. I think they are a pretty good choice

Are these the snails you are talking about dixon, they are about 5mm in size. i am currently fighting a battle to get rid of them. I'm thinking of getting a group of chain loach to eat them.

don't know if they are midge but they are smaller then micro worms and i was going to use them to feed ram fry. I have got micro worm already but tank you for the offer simian. It was also pointed out to me that i could just use the liquid from a micro worm culture which is made up of baby micro worms yeast slurry as a replacement so there is no real point in getting the eels.

i love watching my pair tag in and out the male always seem to get the short straw 30sec eating 3 minutes guarding eggs. poor little guy

i have got a pair of blue rams, have found them easy to keep and get to laid. My parents have a bad habit of eating the eggs once they start wriggling. however i now have a batch of eggs i have taking from the parents that have started to wriggle and looking good. so will wait and see

Over the last few days i have noticed that at night my tiger lotus folds its leaves upright, then in the morning the leaves slowly come back down again. I never knew they did it and found it interesting so thought i might share.

no luck flowering for me yet as i have been cutting the leafs that are running to the surface to try and get it to pad out more, and it seems to be working. i now have pads that are 8cm by 10cm and its covering about a 25cm diameter area. Ill start leaving the runners soon and hopefully it will flower then.

i have just took the first pup off my tiger lotus, i had 4 full leafs and 8-12 decent roots. all i did was, lift the pup till i saw the connecting "thingy" (its a technical term) between mum and pup. Then at about half way between mum and pup i cut it with a nice sharp pair of scissors. both are doing fine and and have another new leaf coming through on the pup. HTH :lol:

i have just started a culture with potting mix but have started to see small white ant things i round the food i add. the whit worm still seem to be ok and the fish eat the ants but just wondering if they could have come in with the potting mix i used?

yes the limpet are the guys in the bag that glow. they have been add to the tank now but have not seem them for a while so not sure if they are still alive. -

what chili types do you guys grow? i have birds eye seedlings atm and one bush that that is coming up to a year old now. hopping for some orange habaneros and cayannes seedling to sport.
