i found the limpets in a river near Karamatura. Where at Titirangi Beach can the shrimp be found i might have a look this weekend.

i found some in a stream and have tested the cool little guys, removed them from the plastic bag and they glow, stay posted for photos.

i was using that technique so it might have been the stream/river. Alot of people swim in it could it be that? what is a good stream to look in?

i agree with alan, if you have been shock 2 times mayb not best to try for a 3rd. as for getting your fingers burnt imsmith are you running a rcd in your house?

just set up a native tank and wanted to add some shrimp went out trying to find some to but couldn't find any. so does anyone know where in west Auckland area i can find some or have some spare available?

my led torch which has a 5 watt luxeon led in it has mayb a 35deg angle with reflector in and about 180deg with the reflector out.

have you tried http://www.surplustronics.co.nz/shop/ they have them but i don't think they have them on the web page. so it might pay to ring them. They also post for memory.

I measured the temperature to a 40ltr tank over 24 hours. takeing a sample every 10sec the picture is a screen shot of the mutimeter and i have a .xls (xcel file) hosted at the link below. does anyone know where is it possible to get open cell foam for a sponge filter. i have herd of people using car cleaning sponges.
