  1. how big and how much ur borneos prophecy?
  2. its important to keep juvies in tiny tanks to begin with, you want to up grade the tank as the fish grows. because of the way they hunt. tank doesnt have to be massive ultimately as these guys are pretty inactive, a 150 tank will be fine for one or 2 fully grown one...
  3. get a dat! they are awesome
  4. i got 2 of mine at hff albany $130 but after nagging the dude there, i got it for 100, i got the other one at origins browns bay for 90 dollar-ish, and i was in hff mt roskill last week, they are doing a special and it was only 80 something dollars!!!!!
  5. go to the lib and get a copy of it gives pretty detailed information regarding bichir keeping.... hehe i myself have 3 ornates and a senelgalus... fantastic beasts... pet shop guys told me theyll never catch the gold barbs i bought as feed... they proved him wrong... 12 gold barbs+ 3 ornates + 3 days = 3 very very fat and satisfied ornates 8)
  6. yeah, loach with their white spots.... grrrrrr dunno if its just me, whenever i go to the fishstore (ALOT), theres always a couple of dead corys in their tank, so i steer clear of those too...
  7. mine literally exploded, its those blue/orange ones, i dont even know what happened, woke up in the morning and its insides all round the tank. oh, and my heater broke for an evening, and all my neons died, all 20 something of them $$$$$$$$ only batch ive ever kept, so in my opinion, they arnt very long lived
  8. lol im asian and i dont even knw that *bows head in shame AWAY!!! to silverbell!
  9. lol fresh shrimps = $$$$$ my regular fridge raids makes the accomodation of fresh shrimps very short lived.... man, im even temped to go after those freeze dried ones
  10. i was thinking those foodtown $10-for-a-big-bag-shrimps,but those are cooked, thats not good eh?
  11. yeah, and those freeze dried shrimps, expensive tho, but it says "greatly promotes growth, and according to the guy at hff albany, ts what they feed in the shops
  12. i never see my clown knife, i feed discus pellets and sinking pellets and bloodworm/shrimp/maggoty things every other day. i would say the worms etc are hardly enough for the clown as the oscar nabs most of it anyway, so it must be eating the pellets...
  13. those frozen packs of fat juicy maggoty looking things with a dragonfly on the front works really good for me... but seems to create high density poos that u cant gravel vac... so i net those poos out...
  14. yup yup, right you are, skunk loach on 2nd thoughts maybe they werent dead, i just found another one... the ornates are no larger than 13cm, loach bout 4 cm-ish 8) i have plenty of danio, barbs and guppies in there... (my mates girl friend breeds them... if only she knew what i was doing with them...   )
  15. hmmmm, i just checked tank, i see 1 loach, 2 barbs, 1 danio, a borneo tiger, and 3 very fat ornates... heehhehehehehehe 8)
  16. dats? MUAHAHAHAHA I JUST GOT 1 TODAY!!! YUSHHHHH, damn it looks keen! unlike my bank account.... =.=
  17. i dont mind, i got myself a copy of and it states that loaches make good feeder fish for bichirs due to its high vitamin levels, im not too fussed...
  18. LOL, NEVER MIND, end up geting 3 loach of some sort (black stribe across back and along tail, orangy in colour) ANNNNNNNNNNNNNNNND a DAT! DAMN I NEED TO STOP GOING TO THE FISH STORE...
  19. like the subject suggests... im pretty keen to put some clown loaches into my ornate tank, its this a good idea? the ornates arnt too big, never kept loaches before, but i need them to kill the snails...
  20. maybe the male was gay? haahha i dunno sorry
  21. yeah, i dont think its a big deal, my tank does that, i just leave it alone and things just get better... on the other hand, my mothers tank is like that, cloudy 24/7, i just think she never change the water... but her fish thrive none the less
  22. hmmm, my sister is 10, i left her my old tank b4 i moved out, i went back after 3 months, the tanks full of plants and green crap, appears shes done NO water changes, the lights has been on for 24hrs a day... BUT the fish is THRIVING... what the hell... anyways, NEVER LET YOUR SISTER TAKE OVER YOUR TANK. oh, i quickly took my fish back... and my ornates ate them 8)
  23. uh oh.... i might go to malaysia end of this year for a month... i dunno whether i should employ my mother to look after it... despite that may lead to a sooner demise of my fish... lol *tuck them in my pocket and take them with me, they breath air anyways * so the only way i guess is to ask for someone to look after them or sell them
  24. my girl is going across the ditch... so ill prob go visit her every so often when i have enough $ despite it prob wont work out anyway. what worries me is my fish. i have 3 ornates, 1 senegalus, 1 clown knife, 1 oscar, 1 silver aro, theyll most likely to be very dead by the end of any of my 1 week expeditions. cant get my flat mate to look after them, hes drunk most the times and a complete fob when it comes to fish... or anything else. so what can i do? open to suggestions oh and if this is the wrong place to post this, can the admin please move it to the correct place. THANKS!
