  1. Some new pics Borrowed a Sony Alpha 350 and 100mm F2.8 Macro lens from work. Have decided i'll never buy one. My Canon 20D was soooo much easier to use in so many ways!
  2. I'm definatly in the wrong industry then We're lucky to get 5% markup on PC parts and notebooks LOL
  3. Awesome! Put me down for a couple of them once they're ready
  4. My BTA managed to get a few tenticles caught up in a powerhead. I never actually saw it happen, but it had a large part of it which looked all munted. Fed it a couple of 1/2 shrimps and within 3 days it looked back to normal. Like mentioned, I haven't heard of them polluting the tank if they get munched.
  5. $458 this month. Highest i've seen before that is $270 last winter, so this bill was a shock
  6. I had a 10ft trampoline when I was younger. Used it nearly every night from the age of 5 til the age of 13 (barring rain) when it finally gave up and the springs started to ping off. (I then started Racing Dirtbikes) Just get the foam pads for where the springs are. I never had any injuries and I taught myself how to front and backflip along with other technical maneuvers. Just keep an eye on him until yo can see he can jump safely by himself. If I ever have kids, I'm definatly getting a trampoline for them once they're old enough. I often wish I still had it. Best times of my life were pretending to live out some adventure while jumping on the trampoline. Sounds stupid I know, but I have so many fond memories hahaha
  7. Maybe I shoulda had that smoke AFTER I replied?
  8. Sand vs Bare Ass is no different to the T5 vs MH saga. Theres no winner and never will be. Its all up to personal preference as to what you do. As I've said, I like the look of substrate/sand, and will always have it with future tanks, especially because I keep fish & inverts which benefit from having a sandbed. Theres no right or wrong answer to this one. You are going to end up in the same place no matter what road you take, so take the one that you feel comfortable taking, and deal with any problems that arise as they happen. Remember, patience is the key in this hobby
  9. I've just upgraded and used new sand in my new setup. If you've got good cycled rock, the diatom algae is minimal if you use RODI water. I've had the new tank setup for 3 weeks, and diatoms are just disappearing now. I too like the look of sand, so going bare ass wasn't an option for me. I've got 1 - 2 cm of sand.
  10. Business Class? I didn't think they had that for National flights anymore?
  11. Cool the BL survived the trip ok then?
  12. like me To be honest, had this unit been available a year ago, fairly certain I would've bought one. I still think an upgrade would've been inevidable anyway but for ease of use, and learning in marines, it looks like a good unit
  13. Yeah I'm interested to know aswel
  14. THe photo makes it look pink  stupid camera
  15. Nah its green so wont be rose. Move has gone well, all done now and old tank is empty and ready for a new home. Diatoms, yep, and its way worse than it looks on those photos! New sand, kinda expected it.
  16. Pic update: And the newest edition, anemone. Took the clowns less than 30 mins to realise what it was, and they basically sat inside it while the anemone moved around working out where it would stay. Seems to be happy where it is now, hasn't moved its foot since it got there Can anyone tell me what type it is? It acts like a bubble, and I have seen bubble like tentacles during the night, but nothing like the large bubbles commonly seen.
  17. Yes very true. The one with orange bands on it though is one i'm sure i've seen as being a tropical species?
  18. To me, the fact its covered in coralline on its shell indicates its been in those conditions for a long time. I haven't heard of many native hermit crabs that have lived very long in a reef environment. See if you can get a close pic of him and maybe someone on here could identify it?
  19. Lucky! If they're tropical ones, you've got urself a score there! Not many are avaialble, and alot of us reefers would pay good money for one!
  20. His email this morning said no fish made it? Turned up today?
  21. Damnit, hurry up payday so I can get my lights sorted!
  22. Wicked! If I was going Cold Marine, i'd definatly want to try an octopus
  23. Saw both the Red and Purple after work last night, however only the red one has been parading around. Looks so tiny in such a big tank lol
