Ok makes sense doesn't it. What would you suggest to aim for? How often should I increase the S.G to suit growing puffer?

I am hoping for S.G to be 1.018 as I do not have a skimmer . . . yet!

I'll stick to one thread Sorry, 1.018 is what I am aiming the tank to be, once gradually changed. (hope that makes sense) How much salt to water should I add from Day 1?

Ok will be going to Hutt Pets tomorrow, I think I have Red Sea Max salt or some-thing similar so thats fine, I have a friend giving me a hydrometer, I understand S.G should be at 1.018 (as I do not have a skimmer) just unsure how to add the salt slowly without harming any of the bacteria cycling to adjust. I have another thread asking for this information :oops:

How would I go about doing this? Tank is 120L and is housing one green spotted puffer, whom currently around 4-5cms is "freshwater" Filteration is a Fluval, suited for 300-400L, temp is 25'C. P.H 7.5 I am aiming for S.G to be around 1.018. All help is greatly appreciated.

I have brought it from a tank that is currently freshwater, so in the next month will slowly introduce it to salt water, not to sure how to go about this though, dont actually have a salt water tank, lives in a bare bottom cycled 120L tank. What should tank parameters be at? Any advice will be appreciated.

Thank you Blue Moon for your lovely post. We aren't going to rush in to one, but it is in the cards. We wont to "poo proof" our walls etc first.

Are they grumpy? Is there any tank mates they don't like or don't like them?

Because the fish are not doing too good with comands, or talking, I am looking in to getting a Lorikeet (have done the research on them) But my question is, have you ever owned one, if so what are the cons to having one!

Hutt Pets = $6-$7 dollars, hard to spot in there tanks, I have about 20+

How weird? I had HUGE bubble nests in my tanks, maybe toomuch water movement? How have you introduced them?

I have the same problem, I use a Fluval filter though, I do a 2-3 weekly waterchange and still have not been able to get rid of the fine particals (poop and plant)

I have had 2 yellows females hold, and I just let them spit (only 1 ever survived) I dread having to pull apart my tank and its tiny compared to a 500L. I think you have beautiful fish ryan so a breeding set up would be wonderful!

I still have to add some demonsoni I think! TinyTawnyKitten, E.Yellows and Demonsoni and Peacocks make a awesome tank feature

I posted a 3rd pic, I was wondering myself, I have 11 E.Yellows and not 1 in the photos??? They were all hiding not joking either.
