  1. It killed them over about 2-3 weeks, every couple of days one would go. No other symptoms, only whitespot -head to tail. - Won't be getting new fish till tank turns around.
  2. Thanks for the support guys, clown loaches are my favourite, I know they are "common" - But not at a decent size they aren't. All new fish in my household are QT for wee while, there was no sign of ANY-thing so all was well for about a week when I noticed the whitespot on the clown loaches and a few guppys. Then BANG one by one each morning they were found dead. I also introduce all fish properly etc, etc! Just have to start again! some were TWO YEARS OLD! - My first fish!
  3. I got some fish the other week who must have been carrying whitespot, they didn't appear to have any when I got them but then before I knew it most of my fish were appearing with "spots" Despite weeks of effort trying to fight this battle I have now lost most of my fish in my main tank, including 10 clown loaches, two who were 15cm+ and my green crowntail who was stunning. The fish I have left doing well are fish that YOU CAN BUY any-time from any shop, amazing how just the "HARD TO FIND" are the ones you loose. Now I feel completely *insert bad words* and it "makes you want to give up" all together. How do you carry on when you've had a BAD EXPERIENCE?
  4. Welcome, glad to have you aboard.
  5. Any-thing lol I pretty much have a tank for each "groups" except killies, I had a pair who jumped out of a tiny gap in my lid, so im scared to get another pair.

  7. Hi I am coming up from Wellington in April for a week, any suggestions of "fishy" things to do? Any-one selling any fish I may be tempted to bring home? :bounce:
  8. Thanks for all the tips lmsmith
  9. Hmm, ever in doubt return to the manual
  10. YAY :bounce: Stu, happy to hear, now I have to try get them in the mood, but not the hungry mood don't want them eating there eggs. This is a lovely pair, so keep an ear open I may have some young ones (hopefully pure black) available soon. Phoenix, I don't have a macro lens, just a cheap $299 Nikon little hand thing, i'm suprised if it has more than 4pixels
  11. Hope these are better, best I seem to do!
  12. Thats difficult, as you can see my tanks are grubby and you can hardly see haha will try again.
  13. If they are male & female, I wont be keeping the young so ill let you know, and it took me years to find just these ones and keep them alive, blacks are hard to keep IMO
  14. Some photos, will add them slowly, sorry I own a cheap camera
  15. Thank you Billaney, one was guarding these white eggs, so could that be a female still or is that a male thing?
  16. Thank you for your comment, reason I ask is, if there is a great chance that they are male + female, I will set up a new tank for them but if there is a good chance they are two females who are a little fustrated then ill let them be.

    Hi all

    Welcome to the forums
  18. Re; Breeding Angels I have had two successful breeding pairs in the past, but I am stumped on my new pair! :-? My question to you is will two females try to breed? -reason being, I have "white" eggs every-were and no "clear" ones, could this mean unfertile ie two females? or if thats impossible, could it just mean other "mates" in the tank have eaten them or have they fungased? Also what appears to be the female is "pure black" and what appears to be "male'' is nearlly all black but speckled, will I have healthy young? Please dont say why don't you try figure out their gender, cause I have sat down endlessly trying to work it out and I am no good. Thanks for helping in advance
  19. Too far to take my rotor, will take it to the parmy one in Feb, any-one going there?
