Ditch the Widows and get Black Phantoms because they are smaller so you will be able to have more of them and they still have the nice dark colour like the Widows. Just my two cents

From what I've read Moenkhausia sanctaefilomenae school really well. I think you should get Five-banded or Rhombo Barbs. IMO they're much nicer looking that Tiger Barbs, plus they have a lovely iridescent green gloss on their scales and they shouldn't pick on other fish, whereas Tiger Barbs seem to have a reputaion for being a bit troublesome. The shop here has some Five-banded Barbs (10 I think) and they school really nicely :thup: If you don't want barbs just go for Cardinal Tetras because they are sooo awesome and they school reasonably well

It is actually a stem plant, belonging to the genus Hygrophila, not a fern. Ferns grow via a rhizome which attaches to rocks or wood and creeps along the surface, and the leaves unfurl from the rhizome. There are also plants called ferns that aren't ferns, like Indian Fern for example.

Looking nice :thup: I think you should replace the glosso with Echinodorus tenellus, because it grows more bushy and fuller and has a nice grassy texture which I think will look nicer with the moss and Java Fern Plus the glosso looks a bit too bright next to the dark colour of the moss and fern, and the E. tenellus is darker which I reckon will look better. Hairgrass is looking great, I really like it :thup:

Looks cool But there is too much Indian Fern in there IMO lol 8) I reckon some more Java Fern and some Windelov Fern in there will look cool, and a few red plants like Ludwigia and Alternanthera, and a nice big feature plant like an Echinodorus :thup:

Cardinals still look better than all of those IMO Emperor Tetras (Nematobrycon palmeri) are another very nice tetra with great little personalities too. Maybe a school of them if you decide not to get the Cardinals?
