    The What's Up? thread.

Yay good on you phoenix Pics please? I'd love to see what they all look like together in such a large group The fire alarm went off at 2:10am this morning, although there was no fire. Some of the lights weren't working. But we evacuated anyway. I grabbed all my important fishy stuff, my cash and some books, and we chucked all the cats outside, and grabbed bunny and put her in a cage, and went up the road to my uncle's place. The fire brigade came over and couldn't find anything wrong so we went back home. We are still unsure what happened, but my parents are going to call some electrician guy to come and check it out. On a better note, my CAL Aqua Fluxus set, CAL Aqua Nano Drop Checker, GLA Bubble Counter Fluid and CO2 tubing arrived yesterday afternoon. I was most impressed by the quality. And I just can't get over that drop checker - it's tiny!
  2. + 1. And if you can spare a bit of extra money, you could get the ADA bulbs. From what I've heard they are amazing.
  3. Wow neat fish! !drool: Antwan you could try glosso, ADA seem to be able to grow it really well under 150w halides in 60cm heigh tanks; http://www.aquajournal.net/suikei_data/001/suikei0801.html Just place it closer to the halides, so not right out in the middle of the tank or something. It should grow fine if it is closer to a light source. Worth a try.

Today I went to the dentist and had one of the 1st teeth removed as it wasn't falling out and was being overlapped by one of the adult teeth. I had an injection to numb the area around the tooth, and it was horrible because it was on the inside of the gum. Otherwise all good
  6. Wow that looks amazing
  7. Awesome :happy1: :bounce: :happy2:
  8. This is one of the coolest tanks I've seen  !drool: !drool: I love those Sundadanios. It's such a pity that they are very rare here. I really wanted to get some to breed but they all sold out

Tried to get some photos of the moss for you Sophia but for some reason the blueness of the moss doesn't show up on the camera

The blueness should go away shortly. It isn't really blue, but it has a blue tinge to it from the methlyene blue in the tonic.

I'm looking forward to it Caryl I know how much time and effort you put into the magazines and they are always an excellent read I noticed a bit of cottony stuff on my male macmasteri's right pectoral fin yesterday, so I put in some Wunder Tonic, did a 85% waterchange this morning, and put in a whole lot of Tonic Salt and the fish are all happy  My moss is all blue though from that blasted Wunder stuff :tears: My precious, lovely moss...

    Voltage input

    How would it be cheaper?

    Voltage input

Why don't you just get one of those filters here  I could understand if you wanted to buy a Classic 2211 from America, as those aren't stocked in NZ, but Pro 3 2080s are, so what makes the ones from America so special? They are an already expensive flter, plus shipping would be a killer as they're huge, and then you'd need a voltage converter so you'd just be pointlessly wasting money when you can just get the filter here, with the right voltage and plug. http://www.hollywoodfishfarm.co.nz/detail/view/eheim-2080-professional-3/m/1135/

    kinbote's tank

Wow that is amazing! !drool: What sort of Tetras/Apistos you got in there?

A pH controller is probably a good idea, but they cost a lot and aren't actually necessary for a CO2 system. If the CO2 and lighting are adequate and the plants are photosynthesizing, then there is no need to worry about oxygen levels becoming depleted as the plants will be giving off heaps of oxygen. And the CO2 gets turned off when the lights are turned off, so then there is plenty of oxygen still in the water for the night.
  16. Ice222 of course   OK, I'll probably give it a miss for now, I kind of want to get a group of them together. But that's a good price you're selling them for
  17. I really want to get some more again! They're so cute! Do you have any for sale and how much per fish or could you work out a deal for a larger amount (about 15ish)? These are to go in my new planted nano tank that I will be setting up.
  18. Wow it looks so clean and tidy Love the substrate  The male agassizii is beautiful !drool:
  19. Wow awesome fish the_obstacle I just wondered, why are the "Gold" ones called "Gold", because I googled "Apistogramma cacatuoides gold" and they look completely different to the imported ones, which look like Orange Flashes.
  20. What is with all this secret squirrel business? For crying out loud, they're not illegal or anything, and it would be really nice to see some good pics of well-coloured fish. And I for one would be happy to wait to buy fish off of someone who breeds ones with really nice colour, rather than buy whatever from the shops
  21. Wow looking great! Just wondered, what is the height and width of the tank?
