  1. They're some of my favourite pics of your tank I  the one with the overgrown sword and the Cardinals shoaling beneath it
  2. Some of my all-time favourites Another scape by Luis Moniz Phoenix44's Aquarium Some other random aquascapes Zev's 30x33x38cm Asian Blackwater Aquarium
  3. Floofie update The little fuzzies are now 11 days old. They haven't really changed much since the last pic, but here's one anyway
  4. How many times have you been told, HOLLYWOODS WILL SHIP.
  5. If you want, you can put a 3cm layer of JBL AquaBasis Plus underneath the silica sand. Or you can just use JBL Root Balls underneath the plants that need root fertilization most, like Cryptocoryne, Echinodorus and Nymphaea sp. Also use liquid fertilizers. The list I provided is just a guideline; there are still a few more plants out there that you will have success with, or you may have a plant that is considered difficult to care for, but flourishes in your tank for some reason.
  6. YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :bounce: :happy2: :happy1: :bounce:
  7. African (Malawis, Tangs) African river (planted, with a large shoal of Hemigrammopetersius caudalis and some Pelvicahromis taeniatus) Amazon Reef (if you can afford it) Asian Blackwater ADA Iwagumi Personally I think monster fish are very boring, because I've seen them before and they don't really do much. They're just very BIG. And I don't really know of any monster fish that have lovely colours. They all seem to be silver or muddy brown or grey. I would go for the Africans or a large shoal of colourful fish like Paracheirodon axelrodi, Hemigammopetersius caudalis or Trigonopoma pauciperforata and a few softwater cichlids and some fancy catfish. If you can afford it though I think a reef tank would be spectacular, with some Dwarf Angelfish and lots of small colourful Wrasses, Damselfishes and Cardinalfish.
  8. These are all easy to care for, so they'll be great for a beginner like you: Alternanthera reineckii Echinodorus bleheri Echinodorus tenellus Echinodorus quadricostatus Echinodorus latifolius Hygrophila difformis Hygrophila polysperma Hygrophila polysperma 'Rosanervig' Ludwigia repens Ludwigia arcuata Rotala indica Limnophila sessiliflora Vesicularia montagnei Vesicularia dubyana Microsorum pteropus Microsorum pteropus 'Windelov' Microsorum pteropus 'Narrow Leaf' Nymphaea lotus Saggitaria subdulata Cryptocoryne cordata Cryptocoryne petchii Cryptocoryne willisii Cryptocoryne wendtii Cryptocoryne affinis Hydrocotyle verticillata Heteranthera zosteraefolia Riccia fuitans Lilaeopsis mauritiana Lilaeopsis brasiliensis Cabomba carolina Anubias barteri Anubias barteri var. 9. Yes the colours become deeper as the loaches settle in. The colours do not vary on individual fish except for the fact that some have chocolate brown marks and some have very dark brown, almost black, markings. There are also different species of Khulis. The golden ones are a mutation I think, but there are Black Kuhlis, and Needle Kuhlis availible as well, which are different species.
  10. Cave wetas live in caves though. And Insect Direct said this was on his bed.
  11. You'll be able to see their colours changing as I add more photos as they grow.
  12. Quick update. The little fuzz balls are now eight days old, and growing fast. They're very large and healthy. I think it is those pellets that I've been feeding the parents. I also put an orange in the aviary for the parents, sliced in half and each half skewered on a nail. They got some fresh spinach leaves too.
  13. Cave weta have MUCH longer legs It looks like a ground weta, and it is far more likely to be one too. There are many species of weta, and more being discovered. Some species of ground weta look like mini tree weta, others look like the one you have pictured.
  14. Just google Cryptocorynes. The fish should probably go in this order: Khulis Pencilfish Apistos Here's my C. cordata
  15. Have a look on the packaging. It will say e.g. 6,700K on it.
  16. It's not the moss you have to worry about. What about the Bolbitis heudelotii? That would take AGES!!!!!!!
  17. I know! Isn't it the best tank EVER? :happy1: :happy2:  !drool: Read the thread about this tank. I've posted the link below the photo.
