  2. ads are ads, making an ad irritating is often effective advertising, will be stuck in your head and you will remember the product, weather you buy it is another story though. on the radio the most irritating ads i remember word for word, know the address, phone number, services offered etc, irritating but very effective the gorilla ad for cadbury was neat in itself, something totally different and caught many peoples attention and bought back to life an awesome song i hate the eyebrows cadbury ad but i know of alot of kids that love it, when shopping with parents "mummy mummy i want cadbury chocolate" dont fully agree with alot of the ads on tv, then again also dont agree with alot of programs on tv either, i barely watch it, only programs i watch are family guy, simpsons, king of the hill, jonos new show (sadly finished) thats it, tv in room doesnt even have an arial

  6. once when younger working on the farm with parents was just putting water through the system to clean the plant, changed the valve over so water from system went down the drain instead of into vat (up was in vat, 90 degrees was down drain, down was all down drain including vat) that worked fine went home for the morning, came back in the afternoon with hundreds of litres of milk in the yard. id pulled the valve down a couple degrees too much and released all the milk from the vat 2 milkings worth of milk literally down the drain woops

    Sore Betta?

when i had my jewel cichlids they used to always attack each other and would always be vistims with bitten fins and bites out of their bodies. i placed the wounded ones in an ice cream container floating on top of tank with a partial lid or a small tank and put in some meth blue and sea salt, i done regular water changes and added more salt with each change. they came right after a few days or weeks depending on how serious wounds were

  15. hmmm looks like ill be having some fun removing stinky substrate, so long as i dont swallow too much through syphon hose ill be ok  hopfully i dont upset the fish too much, lukily i can get rid of most of the substrate easily using syphon hose
  16. was my alpha male lamplologus brichardi, he had beautiful fins and was one of the favourite fish in the tank, sad but such is life i guess, i have fry from him, not sure how many will survive with the other bigger fish but heres hoping. thanks for the offer of lumpheads, i would love some but i havnt been to Wellington in about 10 years but will definatly keep you in mind if im ever down that way there is a bit of oily residue on surface of tank (not sure what this was from) the 2 cannister filters provide alot of water movement but doesnt actually break the surface of water. there is no airstone or anything either. I can angle the filters up to splash the water although makes sleeping a bit difficult
  17. mostly black silica sand crushed coral as well as limestone chips. these all get stirred up before i do gravel vacume so i can pick up the most gunk etc possible have a couple large rocks aswell

  20. just done a water change in my 4 foot african at lunch time, took the lids off and was greeted with an aweful smell, the water literally smelt like umm.... excrement ive owned tropical tanks for years and have got used to the smell of cleaning tanks and doing water changes but today the smell was totally different. very hard to describe the smell other than smelling like ........ i changed fish foods approx 2 weeks ago, went from am thinking that since that is the only thing i have changed in my tank it could be the food. anyone else had something similar happen? cheers
  21. bik bok i wouldnt worry about cycling tank for one fish personally breeding killies n guppies in 10-20l or so tanks i never had a filter, most killie tanks having 3-5 fish in them and guppies having up to 40 per tank i never had any problems. all tanks were bare except a bit of sand in the bottom i just done regular water changes even in my african fry grow out tank i do not have a filter and its approx 30l
