same as ryan said, mine started breeding at a relative size to yours, though it was a few years ago
didn't do a lot of lip locking though, they are an amazing parent
had 6 in a community tank that bred in there, weren't too agressive with other fish
ended up seperating the pair out so it was less stress on them when they were guarding the young
we use grass carpet, with glazed terracotta saucers for feed dishes
grass carpet easy to wash once a week
food - live foods, mescalin salad, grated carrots, pumpkin, apples pureed, whiskas singles, beefheart, mango,
i have some afrikans about 11 years old that have been fed on beef heart all their lives
it is only a part of their diet though, probably about 40 - 50%, cooked shrimp, flake, pellets and live food make up the rest
20 - 30 years was the only pre perception
a life time of being judged by my look, dress, hair style, job or behaviour
now means i prejudge no-one, just take people as i find them
one of the things i like about this forum is that you get a picture in your mind of people from the way they post on the forum
then meeting them can change your perception
it is also like meeting a friend you haven't seen for a while
sorry i didn't get to have a good chat, my day was as usual busy
and cricketman was called into work so couldn't be here
me was gopher for the day
adodge and sue had to weed around a sitting chicken
wow what a difference a day makes
big thanks to
dimebag and carl for supplying the materials and erecting a fence
adodge, sue, ingrid and alexa for the gardening work
leon, jethro and alan for clearing and carting rubbish
adodge supreme effort for travelling from auckland with her weedeater
good to meet you at long last
to those who couldn't make it, you were here in spirit and your names were mentioned
hopefully tomorrow is fine for the second wave
mix of fish will depend on what you can obtain, size of fish will be restricted by size of tank
don't keep seaweed in tank till you have mature system
check out other saltwater threads for info, run system like a trop marine without the heater
