  8. in an insulated container i used a oil column heater and a fan heater, once heated they weren't on much
  9. that may work as i have noticed with mine it is a visual thing, once the other guy is out of his space the agression stops the sub fish has a flat rock angled against the side of the tank he slips into and effectively disappears
  10. so you are saying a male shrimp had delusions of grandeur

  14. Put some timber on the native tank and woke up to this this morning
  15. some concretes are made with extra chemicals for hardening, reinforcing and waterproofing also some concretes and cobbles are treated for antifungal, mould and moss control i have coral sand in tank and limestone chip, shell and aragonite in the sump
  16. i have a similar situation happening but the agression is only gone so far as chasing the sub fish out of the immediate area the tank is 2400 x 600 x 600 though other than seperating i have no immediate solution though, sorry edit:- mine haven't got to that stage yet, crosses fingers and touches wood can you seperate them or put a divider in to keep them seperate
  17. last layer of fibreglass is on now i have to cut the acrylic down to 2880 x 1000 i have been given conflicting information on cutting it skill saw is too fast and melts it in the cut last i cut was 10mm with a jigsaw so may do this again any other ideas
  18. bigger sump means more total water in system, same as top tank but lower water level would be ideal
  19. we have stopped taking in possums as people were seeing ours and thought they would have one too then when they got tired of them just letting them go
  20. good pic oeminx, personally i would add 2 heaters to the tank itself, if return pump turnd off the tank will still stay warm also add a powerhead to tank to increase watr flow in tank and lower water level in sump to accomodate extra inflow if pump turns off baffles in sump could be moved to one end or a wet dry tower added to the sump just a personal opinion
