  1. Lucky for you. They are an amazing fish.... might have to get a pair? Ohhh but what is going to have to be sacrificed?
  2. Yea I love the Blue Rams and I brought a pair only weeks before my tank became infected with intestinal parasites and sadly I lost them both.... I might get brave enough to try them again? :-?
  3. Hi all, after having problems with my tank for ages, it seems to have come right. I am thinking of adding some more fish to the tank and would love some ideas. My tank is 80cm long, 40cm wide, and 55cm tall. It is well established and moderately planted. At the moment I have, 1 x Rainbow shark (still young and small) 1 x Golden Algae eater 1 x Red Spot pleco (about 10cm maximum) 1 x Bristlenose 7 x Cherry Barbs 2 x Swordtails Any suggestions? I would love a pair of Kribs and maybe a pair of dwarf gouramis? Would they suit? Thanks in advance!!!!!
  4. I have an AR620 tank with 6 tiger barbs, 2 wild mollies, one sword (male), Black line flying fox and 2 bristle's. would it be a stupid idea to add a lil black ghost into there too? Cheers, shaun
  5. nope not on glass. They move really fast ans are very thin and most are small. How do you treat round worms? I have swordtails, Silver shark, Red spot pleco, Bristlenose pleco, Algae eater and cherry barbs

I really am trying to do my best. The worms are not anchor's as they are not attached to my fish. They swim with the top of them fixed in one place while the rest of their body snakes around.
  7. I have formalin on hand, would a half dose be worthwhile to try?
  8. ok thanks heaps. They seem to be growing well so hopefully this is just algae?
  9. So you are suggesting that my plants cause be causing this? I thought they helped? I dont have another tank to put the fish in so I need a way to fix this without removing the fish?
  10. Hey guys I've started to plant my tank and noticed a few of my plants who have been there for some time seem to be turning slightly brown. It this something to do with light? Thanks in advance!
  11. Hey the fish have been dying for some time and I have only noticed the worms today. They are free swimming and don't seem to be attaching themselves to the fish. AS my fish have been ill my tank has been kept very clean. A really really good gravel vac at least once a week and with that about a 25% water change.... I'm really stumped...
  12. There are free swimming worms in my tank. They are white and vary in size. They are killing all the fish in my tank and not vets want to supply anything that will treat them. Help Please. What do I do?

    Green Poo??

Could it be algae tabs? I think the swords like them more than the plecos!!!! Also What do you think about shrimp pellets? They seem to just feed the algae? But the fish love them!

    Green Poo??

Can anyone tell me why a male sword in my community tank might be excreting green poo? :-?
  15. Ok I will do! thanks again all!! Its a relief to have good advice!!
  16. You have all been really great! Thanks so much! I'd be in a giant hole without you! I would love some kribs in my tank! Ive always wanted them but haven't found any that really caught my eye! Thanks so much for that! The fish that are left seem fine, they are swimming around as usual and eating heaps, must be feeling better. I'm going to remove the plants and do a really good gravel vac (could an undetected dead fish be causing the other fish to get sick?) Is that a good idea or bad?
  17. ok I will do. I'm down to 5 fish a golden algae eater and 4 bristlenoses thanks again for your help. Once I've treated the tank would it be wise to give the tank a really good clean out? clean all the substrate and rocks etc?
  18. Ok so this is what my poor wild molly looks like now... Ok I'll take that into account thanks. Ill try to track down metro? No one seems keen to help though?
  19. update: The sickest fish now has a white mark on her mouth. This is on her top lip almost? Seems to be the final step before I lose them....
  20. Thanks again guys, Its just hard watching the fish die. I've contacted our local vet by phone and he is researching options for me and will get back to me soon. How would you use the dog wormer? Just in the water? Once I get rid of it should I strip the tank? do a really good clean of all the substrate etc?
  21. WOW prazi is nearly impossible to get hold of. People look at me like I'm going to dessimate the human population!!!!! Apparently MAF have had a crack down in the last 18 months and wont allow it into the country. GRRRR It can't just be easy can it????
  22. Ok, thanks so much everyone. I will try all of your suggestions! I am getting frustrated with all these problems and if I cannot fix them soon I may not have the money to finance the continual treatment of my tank and I really don't want that to happen. I love keeping fish and hope that I don't have to sell my set up!
  23. Okay so the infected fish (seems to be 3 or 4) wont make my other fish ill? I am sorry for my ignorance but I am new to this hobby... medicated food? Obviously these treatments aren't put into the water?
  24. done! They don't seem keen on them tho, they chased them on the way down but thats about it?
  25. cool I will try that thanks!!!! They are better to be shelled right?? Everyone seems a little better in the last few hours minus this very poor barb!!!
