  3. I have just returned from three months travelling through Africa and Europe so I thought I would share some photos with you. They are not all lovely scenic pics, there are some very real life stories shown in these. Please feel free to ask any questions. I will post them over a number of days as not to bore you. We flew via Kuala Lumpur - Bangkok - Nairobi - Johannesburg to Victoria Falls Zimbabwe. Victoria Falls in their glory The bridge linking Zimbabwe and Zambia and the gorge below it Our hotel -
  4. good news, keep a watch on it for a while even after it seems to have completely grown back.
  5. Capitations from club secretaries/treasurers were due at the beginning of this month. As from Tuesday 17th July those club secretaries/treasurers who have not sent through payments and lists for their members, are asked to let their members know that they will not receive their August edition of the Aquarium World or their printed membership card for the 2012 -2013 financial year which will be sent out early August. Capitations received after Tuesday will be processed as soon as possible however due to printing costs we do not print extra Aquarium Worlds. Access to the 'Members Only' section of the Fishroom Forums is also being updated over the next few days. If you have been a member in the last financial year and have paid your membership but find that you are now unable to access this area would you please contact your club secretary/treasurer to check that they have sent through the information and payment to me. If you are a new member and can not access the Members Only section would you also please contact your club secretary/treasurer as access is linked to your fishroom name which I may not have been advised of. Thank you so much. Have a happy year of fishkeeping everyone! Adrienne Dodge FNZAS Treasurer

  11. Click on the FNZAS home link and go to the main page. On the right hand side is where the clubs post the information about their meetings etc. Waikato elected their new President, Secretary and Treasurer for the year last night and the new contact details should appear in the clubs section, also accessible from the main page soon.
  12. Phew - arrived home at 12.20am thanks to the heavy fog most of the way back to Auckland. Thank you for having me at your meeting last night. I did enjoy seeing the tanks and both listening and contributing to the discussion. It is always nice to walk in to a room and see smiling faces and happy people!
  13. Kapi Mana Aquarium Club - thank you Waikato Aquarium Society - thank you

  16. No I am not. Have you paid yours?
  17. Well I can tell you that on my husbands trade me account feedback there is only one thing of his and several hundred of mine. :sml1:
  18. Thanks Dunedin Aquarium and Pond Society!
  19. Keep him in salted water until the tail grows back. You wll need to do daily changes of the water as it is the clean water that is the most essential element in preventing infection. The tail regrowth will appear translucent/ white at first and then hopefully will change to the original color. This will take a few weeks. I personally would not bother with wundertonic at the moment. In my experience water rock/ tonic salt are as effective as this, if not more so. I am a little surprised the neons a causing issues, however if your fighter has been causing trouble they may be retaliating. Sometimes male fighters are best alone as in nature they are solitary fish. In saying this I think there is nothing nicer than an active male fighter in a community tank. Good luck. If more of the tail should disappear please make sure you post on here again. Keep us updated
  20. Thanks for the endorsement Sheepsnana but I bow down to Discusguru in knowledge and experience. He taught me most of what I know. I can not tell from the pics, but if you see red streaks in from where the tatty bits are then it is bacterial if rot. Otherwise treat as Ron says. You can always pop the fighter in the newly set up tank. He will appreciate it! Oh and what sort of tetra are they?
