  1. I would not worry about it being 7.5 - you will end up with a bigger problem if you keep trying to make the pH drop as it is pH swings that cause fish to stress and deaths. What is your tap pH?
  2. Just wanting to check what you are asking - is it will coral lower my pH? Adding coral to your tank will take the pH level up not down. Driftwood tends to assist with lowering the pH in the tank and normally as a tank matures the pH level will decrease. What is the pH level in your tank and why do you want to alter it?
  3. whats wrong with a ponytail?
  4. I think that by putting all the kribs in one tank you have a better chance of them pairing up. Just make sure you give them plenty of plant cover and rocks/caves for them to spawn on. Apart from that all you can do it wait it out. Try giving a good feed of bloodworms followed by a decent, say 50% water change. Often that triggers a spawning. I take it you are on tap water as opposed to tank water.

    fry food??

New Life Spectrum - its a brand of fish food available in various sizes (from powder to larger pellets), with different mixes available depending on the type of fish you keep.
  6. I also would wash the gravel - it may have nasties in it which have been stirred up by the shift.
  7. I would suspect your siamese fighter has been nipping the gourami - it looks like a bite mark to me. Just keep up your tank maintenance - clean water will help it clear up.
  8. I am down in Ashburton for the weekend. Its a gloriously hot sunny wind free day! We went to the Methven A&P Show today, its been at least 15 years since I went to a real show. It was great. My sons partner, 23 on Wednesday, had never seen a sheep being shorn before.

  14. Dear Auckland Fishkeeper Association members We had a good meeting although it was pretty short on attendees. There are a few easy care positions left unfilled which I will list below and I do hope that some of our absentees will offer to fill the slots. As they say many hands make light work and these are minor positions - Vice President Breeding Co-ordinator Editor (if you want a local newsletter) We also still require two delegates to represent the club at conference to be held in Hamilton this Queens Birthday weekend and also to attend the FNZAS on line executive meetings. Please apply in writing to ...... :rotf: but seriously we do need volunteers to fill these positions. Please consider giving a small amount of time to the club. A reminder that club subs are due now. Subs remain the same as last year. Thanks your lucky new AFA Secretary
