  2. What? Do. You. Mean. Like. This. Mystic? I. Think. You. Mean. You. Don't. Mind. How. People. Type. As Long. As. It. Is. Readable. And. They. Use. Fullstops. To. Break. Up. Sentences! Lol! yeah you mean senttences rather than words
  3. I believe you should have a comma in there after the word punctuation 8)
  4. wow- cool photo's mate. these are two corals I definatly want in my tank when I have my skimmer setup
  5. is that bloodworms or tubifex? tubifex are the worms which are found in waters with high counts of faecal coliforms so i would have thought these are pretty bad but apparntly those ones you buy in the tins, (the freeze-dried stuff) is ok except it is really high in protein. I feed my inaga bloodworms and they love it, i normally give them frozen brine shrimp too to mix up their diet

    New Tank

I wouldn't have driftwood in there if it is a african cichlid tank as this will lower your pH which you are trying to raise, it will also make the water softer

    New Tank

well what you have is a good start is that a fluval 3 internal filter in the tank? how big is your tank and what cichlids are you wnating to keep... malawi's I presume

    do you know...

hey steve- the rock is looking really good. I just tested my water parameters and nitrates, ammonia and nitrites are all 0, pH was 8.2, and dKH was 11.5. I still need to get a phosphate test and a calcium test but yeah... once I have a skimmer I will be able to start adding some easy corals, my blue-green chromis(x3 or 4) my 2 osc. clowns, and a cleaner shrimp and an anenome... (well thats the plan anyway) when this is done I will hopefully be able to add a dwarf angel, maybe a flame angel i dunno.
  9. hey penejane you should talk to jetski if you want a metal halide. I got a 150 watt metal halide off him and its perfect for my 3ft tank.
  10. hey does the person who goes by the name chris510 from trademe use this website- if so what is his name on here? Has anyone bought corals off him on trademe???
  11. yeah I use aqua one heaters also. no probs at all
  12. I have used cheaper ones without probs but the benchmark heater is Jager (made by eheim). they say 1.5 W per litre so yeah 3x 200 W would work, or 2x 300 watts. I'm not sure which of these two would be best, as I have never had any tanks over 250 litres myself so...
  13. but on to more serious matters, I have heard tadpoles like tomatos as well if you cut them in half. I have never tried it though- because it would fouul your water very quickly
  14. didn't you wonder why I have a paper bag over my head? its because I am so ravishingly gorgeous, I would be overrun by eager females!
  15. sound like you have it sussed... what CO2 system are you using?
  16. thats a nice little hatching setup there alan- i'm really impressed
  17. on a serious note- I wouldn't run a sump on a planted tank, I have got sumps on fw tanks, but I wouldn't have one on a planted tank because of the loss of CO2... what plants are you thinking of?

    scoria rock

I have heard that it is best not to use vocanic rocks (obsidian excepted) but I could be wrong... i don't know why- whether it alters the hardness or the pH, i suppose if it made it harder or the pH highter it would be ok wouldn't it (I think to myself). my rule of no volcanic rock probarbly only applies to south american tanks or something. Ask around and see...
  19. are you trying to say that I am not appealing enough caryl??? haha 8)
  20. if he went to so much effort making the back walls, why didn't he incorporate the airlines for the bubble filters into that rather than running them down the inside of the tank?
  21. for schizel my nizels, whats crack'a'lackin...
  22. haha yeah thats heaps of carrots caryl. I usually eat about five or six banana's a day- sometimes up about 9 of them...
