hey guys is there a december meeting, if so what date is it???? I am really interested in joining but I couldn't make the november meeting... My tanks are costing me too much and I need the hollywoods discouts :lol: :lol:

don't make the mistake of adding lots and lots of oxygen weed to the bag- as there is no light, thus no photosynthesis, the oxygen weed uses oxygen rather than producing it...

hey guys I am thinking of making small 30-35 litre planted tank and having one male betta in it... would I also be able to add 5-6 neon tetra's to the tank??? I have never seen any mention that betta's and neons cannot go together but I haven't ever seen that they can go together either... :lol: thanks in advance!

at work I have a few in the reef tank and yes, ditto they seem to multiply very fast!!!

oh cool- I am still gonna get green spotted puffers though. I think they are more exciting :lol:

he didn't say anything about fish... what are ya putting in it buzzy??? and don't say fish! i'm sure there are some exciting sub-polar inverebrates worth keeping :lol:

hey jose- nice stuff- so you agree the tank on tm is too small it is longer than your one but nowhere near as wide- what do you think about it???

hey guys this tank is really too small for all these fish isn't it? Especially the giant gourami- if the gourami is 45 cm long isn't a bit mean keeping him in a tank 40 cm wide???? this is the link btw- http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing ... d=78971106 tell me what you think- I might get it then buy a bigger tank for them???

oh yeah alan- what temp do you breed them at and what pH do you have your breeding tank at- is it 6.5 or something???

hey alan/s, I was just wondering what conditions I need in the tank. What temp do they need to be at, and what pH??? are they fussy about waterr hardness or anything?

hey I like the look of these fish and want to get some to put in a species tank. how many males/ females should I have in a 40 litre tank? Do you guys reccomend plants and substrate or just synthetic wool mops?

if that is your view then gecko's are not native as they arrived here after nz split from gondwana... oh and nikau palms- amongst other things -

my bad. The mad barb is Leptobarbus hoevenii... must have two common names. Interesting fact: Caryl- do not eat this fish as it causes nausea in humans. Glad i'm not the person who has to go round testing if fish are safe to eat or not!!!! :lol:

try live sphragnum (sp.?) moss on the land part if you don't want them getting the substrate all over themselves, It is easy to give it a quick rines every so often to keep it moist. -
