I didnt mean as a backup system, just as a long term alternative means of powering a reef tank. Just wondering if anyone here has done it. Solar powered with a battery bank. If you going to put large amount of money into a reef tank might as well go the exra mile.

Just wondering if anyone uses solar power for there tank as a main power source. Is it possible? Would be a good way to avoid those power cuts

What is the build up/gunky looking stuff on the side of the tank I see in most pictures? Does it come off? Is it like an algae? I keep my temp at 28 and all the other fish have adapted. All I really want to know is there anyone who keeps them together - any behaviour problems?

Hi, Id like to get a male and female Fighters for my community planted tank which currently holds 2 discus (8cm) do you think this would be ok?

I dont mind Travelling to Auckland - I just thought it would be better for the fishies.

It was my 21st Birthday last week and as a present my partner wants to get me a Discus. Im not interested in the LFS Overpriced IMO. Id like to get a pair of them for my tank in a weeks or two. Im looking for small Discus 5-7cm (not including tail). Does anyone know of any Breeders in my area?
