  1. Sprint car, a midget is similar but smaller with no wings. Big fast American car racing. Only raced in US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Basically a Sprint Car is a V8 engine on a lightweight chassis that hold driver and fuel and goes flat out round dirt tracks. 800hp or more horsepower and only weigh about 600kg with driver and fuel. http://www.world-sprintcar-guide.com/sp ... video.html
  2. Postage price on my sales are advertised on each auction. If a customer bids or buy my auction, I take that as an agreement to pay that price to send item. Sometimes i manage to find a smaller box which through NZ Post may cost less. Buyer accepted stated amount on auction, why should I reduce the cost.(in saying that, the differences in costs for my auctions are usually $1.00 or less) Also as stated by others in above posts, there is cost of boxes, tape, bags, and time and fuel to take to post office that I have to cover. I try to be as close to actual cost as possible. If I stated one price, and then charged another, well thats a different story.
  3. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ws6UJDB7-ZI Im off to the opening night at Spring Speedway, Auckland. I cant wait, Sprints Midgets and TQs. Oh and a reason to go to Aucks to buy more fish
  4. Remember Stella, Im still keen to come out one night with you guys. Great photos. Where abouts is Kahuterawa Stream? I used to live in Palmy so I do know the general area, but dont know of that stream.(i prob been there without knowing it  )
  5. This Image from Mikefish (plantgeek forum) Recognise it Alan
  6. NZ Speedway http://www.speedway.co.nz/ Dirt Oval racing I love it, Although Im more of a fan of the Sprint Cars and Midgets that youll be more familiar with Caper. The cars like imsweets are pretty much endemic to NZ.Full contact. Its a way of life for some
  7. Would do that Alan , but my spare tanks and heaters are being used for the crypts at the moment. Gotta have my priorities right.
  8. Update.......... Dunno bout the first few batches, but now I got babies. Just gonna let them go for it and hopefully they will survive(prob not though as there is pristella tetras in the tank)
  9. Yup, I second that about greg(tanks2u) He made me a new tank, and Id have no hesitation in getting him to build another other than the fact i live nearly other end of the island. He does a great job and I cant fault a thing. Price pretty good too as My glazier mate couldnt even get one made at the price i paid.
  10. Wanganui seawater is a bit hard to acces. The river pumps out millions of litres of fresh(usually muddy) water every day. The other problem is access to a place to collect is near impossible as its all sandy beaches with massive dunes.
  11. Mine breed regularly, One male One female only. I find the best way is put them in a floating clear plastic container(so i can see them) containing tank water. Do water changes daily each day with main tank water and aerate it with a small airstone to privde water movement. They dont eat for about 24-36 hours after hatching , then I feed Micro worms or B shrimp. HTH

    Worst find

Thats a real bummer Bilbo! That is bizzare, never seen that happen before myself. At least youve got some fry remaining. Guard them well.
  13. Firstly you need to tell us some things about your tank. Type and intensity of lights. Type of plants dimensions of tank Water specifics. My first guess would be lack of light and or nutrients. Secondly, dependant on type of plants, may be wrong conditions for plants, ie too warm, wrong ph etc. HTH
  14. Sholdnt be hard to make them spawn. My goldens spawn every waterchange and the dwarf neon rainbows follow them around snacking on cavier.
  15. Cheers for that. Answered my unasked questions. Thankys
  16. Caution...... Potassium Permanganate STAINS clothing, hands, carpet, tank silicon etc. Be very careful as landlords dont look to kindly to purple or pink stains on carpet.
  17. Potassium Permanganate- Or, “PPâ€, can be found online, or you local phamarcy You add just a few grains of this to a container or sink and then add the water. It takes it a little while to dissolve, but no big deal. Your goal is to get a good dark pink tint to the water. Once you get it a good dark pink ( but not light pink, not dark purple), add the plants and give them a bath for a good 15 to 20 minutes or so. After that, drain and add fresh water. Stir in some dechlorinator or hydrogen peroxide, both of which will neutralize PP. You can go heavy on the dechlorinator, but don’t go overboard on the hydrogen peroxide. Rinse plants again, quickly, and they should be ready. HTH
  18. I dont make toll calls, and what tolls I do make , I make them during $3 off peak times. Im lucky that I signed up to the old Go Large plan. No longer available, $49.00 per month for unlimited download. I love it.
  19. Did they breed, or did you pick up some more?
  20. Glad Im not the only one with that problem. When I was in fiji, the fijian boys used to call me 'Vanilla" and kept going on about how chocolate is much better than Vanilla  Then after our day out snorkling they started to call me strawberry cos of the sunburn. They thought it was hilarious
