  1. Crypts colouration can vary greatly. In higher light you will see more browns and patterns on the leaves. Its hard to ID a submersed crypt as they can look vary different when grown emersed. Do you have a better picture to see the leaf texture from above? The front one could even be a wendttii, but it does look like a walkerii maybe.
  2. Awesome Ant. Love the soundtrack too
  3. Good, I just found mine in my wallet all tattered. I laminated mine but it made it slightly larger than the card pockets in my wallet and I therefore stuffed it in the billfold section and it got wreaked.
  4. I work at an appliance store and yes, Poly is something we will gladly give away. I believe in some of the larger centres it is taken as recycling but in most provincial towns pay ridiculous amounts to dispose of it. I would never dream of buying the stuff. I pay too much to get rid of it.
  5. Is he that irritating Aussie guy? EDIT: It appears it is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZAHDtzeC_AU Sam you told me this guy was your idol
  6. Agalloch - ...And The Great Cold Death Of The Earth
  7. WHAT, Paul are you crazy? Never been to HFF? LOL, Its well worth the trip
  8. whats behind the black on the wall ant? LOL
  9. My moss grows like crazy(both java and xmas) all i give it is a desk lamp with a standard bulb. It grows in my fry tank so no need for anything more. I would suggest stop dosing ferts as if it is not growing then the ferts are not being used up and therefore feeding the algae. What water are you using? Have you tried different water? Ie rainwater. You tap supply may be high in nutrients. What temp is your water? Xmas prefers it slightly warmer than java. Im not saying i have the answers to why its not growing, just trying to eliminate reasons its not.
  10. Good job guys. I hope the week is very fruitful for you. You deserve it.
  11. Eel Grass is Val. Hornwort(Ceratophyllum demersum) Green Plant and Potomogeton(brown Plant) Val. Gigantica and Spiralis, The water here is waist deep and it is like this almost all the way around the lake edge. The only limiting factor for the Val being around the edges only is te fact it is too deep near the middle for it to grow. This lake is a popular boating and waterskiing lake. It regularly gets sprayed to kill of the weeds. This costs the local council a lot of uneccessary funds.
  12. As Alan said, We in the sub committee are looking into it. I have arranged a meeting n a few weeks time with our local authorities to find the status in the Wanganui/Manawatu region. I will see what they say about the rest of NZ. I would suspect that it is likely to be unwanted and the safest option is to not have it. I have seen first hand the damage it does to water ways. If you want picture to prove it then I can post them up for you if you want. HTH
  13. Looks awesome. But if it was mine it would have a couple of Uaru instead of the Angels. Wild coloured Discus would look good too.
  14. Well they are not fully grown, but they are sexually mature as I have successfully reared fry from them in the past. They do get alot bigger than they are. Yes you are right, Maddys stay reasonably small.
  15. Trout ponds, Public feed them pellets, but in winter they dont eat as much so the worms get it. LOL
  16. No, They are not blood worms. Location is top secret. If I told you I would have to feed you to the worms. LOL
  17. Wont be eaten as all rainbows have small mouths for the size of their bodies, but the Madagascans are much bigger and may harrass the others. I keep my thread fins and Forktails in with my Boesmani and Incisus without any issues. HTH
  18. We plan on something basic. No fancy dress. We going to do the food ourselves with help from family and borrow my mates Holden for the car. No brides maids just the witnesses. Im lucky as she is the tight one and wants to go cheap. LOL
  19. I need ideas for a wedding reception for approx 50 people. Am thinking of having the wedding ceremony at one location , mid afternoonish, and then maybe having the reception at a local sports clubrooms/hall. Budget is the important factor, but in saying this I have no idea what sort of budget we will be limited to. I need ideas for food etc. Was thinking of a salads and BBQ style keeping it fairly casual, but am open to ideas. Would be looking around March for the time of year so weather will be alot warmer. Please help while I still have hair left.
  20. I agree with all above statements. I used to do a fair bit of hunting and tramping back when i had the time. There are some truely beautiful places hidden in the bush that are literally right on our back door step. I just wish I had the time these days to just pack up and go bush again. On another note, I just spent the weekend in Rotorua. Visited the thermal areas on sides of the roads and down back roads. They were just as good as the tourist places where you pay an arm and a leg to visit. We are lucky to live in this country in my opinion. Its just that too many people are blind to what we have. So Deepsound, when are you coming down to visit this country? Lol
  21. Also with the usual higher rainfall the waterways are usually less accessible than summertime. Less food around for them, and its not as pleasant to be standing in cold winter water.
  22. Nice warm heads are created in nice cold environments by wearing a woollen hat. Thus protecting the hair from infection. Just my theory. Go on prove it wrong
