  1. Yep, I'd go with Kribs too. Mine certainly get grumpy with the other occupants when they want to breed and give chase to everything that comes into their territory but have never done any real damage to the other fish. The advantages are, they're not that big and are great fun to watch as they take care of the fry and they sure look pretty when they're in the mood for breeding which in my case is frequently.
  2. Sam, that's exactly what I'm looking for but the sign writers idea sounds pretty good.
  3. Can anyone tell me where to get plain backing for my tank. All I can find locally is the plant covered one. Would really like blue but black would do. Cheers Edited because I had no grasp on English at the time I wrote this
  4. I'm a bit limited down here as to what I can buy locally so had a look on trade me. Thought I might go with the Aqua One CF1000. Eheims are a bit out of my price range at the moment.
  5. I like the thought of not having to see the filter in the tank and the extra space of course!!
  6. Hi all, Well, I'm ready to set up the new 4fter. I have an Aqua One internal for it but I'd relly like an external. I've never used one before so what are you reccommendations? Are they easy to set up? Cheers
  7. I'd be more than keen to have some if you would consider shipping, I think they're beautiful and we can't get many cichlids down here.
  8. Yes, I did. Have we met at some point?
  9. if you need any Kribs, give me a yell. I've got plenty, free to a good home.
  10. I have 2 black neons, the remants of the original school of 6. 1 obviously female and 1 male. Over the last couple of days the females belly has increased hugely, to the point where I think she'll explode!! She's not ill so I'm guessing she may be full of eggs. I have a small tank set up and wonder if I should move the couple in there. It has poor lighting and I can add some extra plants but then what?
  11. Forgot to mention, also got 2 tiny Hoplos sharing quarters with the Kribs currently, who will be moving to the 4fter.
  12. I'd like to increase the number of Serpae as I really like them. Mine are peaceful generally, with occasional squabbles amongst themselves. I also have 7 young tiger barbs growing out in a 2fter but putting them in there could be trouble with the Angels so my thought is to move them into the 3fter when it's empty.
  13. I've finally bought a 4fter with the intention of moving all the tenants from the 3fter into it, they are: 4 young clown loaches 1 pair of angels 8 Serpae tetras 1 bristlenose and maybe a pair of Kribs form the 2fter. Any other suggestions? Doesn't seem a lot of fish for a whole 4 feet!!! cheers
  14. Yep, that's them. Only a 2 foot tank with 8 young tiger barbs in it (who will eventually move on to a bigger tank). The barbs seem to be eating them, I'm guessing this isn't harmful?
  15. Just noticed some small white worm things just above the water line in 1 of my tanks. Never seen them before, don't know what they are and how to get rid of them safely. Any ideas? Are they dangerous to my fish? Thanks
  16. forgot to mention, mine are avid plant munchers, so plants need replacing quite frequently in my tank too
  17. I have 2 new clown loach babies in my tank too, next to my older ones, they look tiny. I'd forgotten how cute they are and the funny things they do
  18. Rehomed some baby Kribs today so I'm left with an empty 35L tank. Any suggestions on what to do with it. Thinking killies, thinking my Siamese Fighter and some Neons, thinking maybe something completely different that I've never had before. Any suggestions?
  19. I have Serpaes with my Angels + clown loaches, everone gets on just fine.
  20. I was thinking a couple of corys too for clean up, trio of killies and maybe 6 neons or is that too much?
  21. I've had Killies before, Dageti and australe chocs but something more colourful would be great
  22. Guess I'm going to East Road Pets then Do they have a good selection and are their fish well looked after?
  23. I'm thinking of a tank about 18 inches in length, cms???
  24. I'd like to set up a little tank in my kitchen, something to gaze at while I'm doing dishes and such. I haven't had any Killies for awhile and I'm thinking they might be ideal, any other suggestions?
