i just put another one on my tank so i have 1 at each end & 1 reads 26 & the other is 28, does anyone else use more than 1 thermometer & have different readings at each end? i use the stick on ones & just put a glass one inside the tank to check if they are accurate & they are.

i had some bn fry climbing out of the water up the side of the tank to get away from the guppies!!

You could end up with some different fish back! :lol: you can always use it as a good excuse to change your tank set up!!

im hoping to set up a pictus tank soon & had the idea of using fizzy drink bottles with silicone on them then rolled in pebbles to make light weight tunnels cause i dont like the idea of a cave in!!

i have 3 bn's & they just go about their job of cleaning, never bother other fish, i have 1 pleco thats taken over as lord & master of the tank now my red tailed shark has gone!!

i'll take some water in to be tested before i change it & some more in later in the week for an idea of whats going on, theres a missing guppy this morning, cant even find bones, im guessing the bn bubbs

no filter & i gravel vac once a week, just has 6 guppies & 1 snail & a few bn fry. went back to the lsf & they said to change the water again with the water out of my big tank & a small sponge filter could help. the goldfish that were in it were tiny & were told they should be fine in the tank

lol, yeah i watch the feeding & she is doing well not to over feed them, might have to take the fish out & leave it for awhile to cycle with the snail??

sorry to hear about all your fish, dont give up, i also have some baby bn that you can have a few when they get abit bigger if someone is heading up your way.

got my daughter a small 25L tank for her b-day in september, put 3 goldfish in it. was fine for about 3 weeks, did the same for it as my big tropical tank, gravel vac- weekly water change. goldfish started dying off 1 by 1 & i kept buying more & the same thing, they would last a couple of weeks & then die aswell. took most of the water out & replaced with water from my tropical & small amount of fresh water ( told by lady at lsf to do this ) things where fine for a couple of weeks then started again. i gave up with goldfish, completely scrubbed the tank put water from my other tank in & put 5 guppies & 1 borneo sucker in ( with a heater of course). now 1 dead sucker ( think i may have crushed him but not sure), 1 dead guppy & another one about to die, what the hell is wrong?? could it be the tank, can the wrong silicon (sp) been used? dodgy rocks? all had been well cleaned. there was one goldfish left & i put it out in the pond with the others & yip that died too. so i have no idea what to do or whats going wrong

just got some more in the sale & they are even smaller than the last ones i got, but looks like fish here are on the dearer end of the scale

yip i heard that to & after my dwarf gouramis started keeling over i put it down to inbreeding. so if you are looking at breeding fish shouldn't you get you male & females from different breeders? otherwise i would guess you are breeding brothers & sister????? not sure how much it matters in the fish world, i breed rabbits & its not something i would do.

theres a really big one in albany hollywood, must be close to 13cm & was $64, not bad cos they are $60 for 5cm here

thanks for your help but he died, he started gulping really fast & i got home from the fish shop & was to late, i was wondering if he had cut the inside of his mouth, im hoping to get a new tank & will shift my surinamensis out & use finer gravel

i noticed a small faint red patch just above its mouth & didnt think much of it, didnt look like the skin was broken & i had been away for a few days & got back to find the top lip red & puffy & last nite a small red line appeared along its top fin & this morning its all the way along the fin. the lip is no longer puffy but still red & the fish is gulping alot, i seperated him last nite & added some aqua plus to the water, he looks abit better but i dont want to risk putting him back in with the others, does anyone know what this is?

buying them only creates demand which = more freaky fish just another people are trying to make $$$ out of cross breeding, i have to agree you could get something or serveral somethings alot nicer with $50 but thats just IMO.
