I saw for the first time yesterday one of my africans spit her fry then recapture them when i approached the tank. That's very cool to watch in real life, I have seen it on videos etc. The reason i have not seen that before is I usually strip them early.

dont worry about power for a 5-6 foot tank. this aint marine. I have a four footer & a 150L tank & i think i noticed maybe $15 a month for them

thats high for having a wet back. my parents have one,last year they had the lowest bill ever for them, $13. This winter with raised power charges they have had bills of $25.

Who here plays golf & how seriously? I have played 3 summers & have joined up for my 1st winter. It is more addictive than fish keeping & can be more expensive i have found.

silicone is a good idea but that "fixes" the swivels so will no longer swivel. As for the leaking tap, pressure test it by blocking on end with your finger on one end & blow into the other. I got a 2nd hand Via aqua 600 this week & had same problem. tested the taps, no problem. screwed it back on & it leaked. it turns out that if you dont have the tap perfectly lined up when screwing it on it will leak for some reason.

you may have more chance of less agro if you had a group of them, they may keep the agro between friends

i had a couple of giraffes in my tank until they got too nasty. the only fish in my tank that put them in there place was my cobalt male. when the giraffe was getting agro the cobalt calmly swam up to him in the corner of my tank & gave him a beating then calmly swam away. it was hard case to watch. however the others didn't fair as well so the giraffes had to go. the giraffe was also the same size as the cobalt at that stage, he would have quickly outgrown them & im sure the outcome would have been different. I have a tank that is a similar size to yours, my stocking is in my sig below which may give you some ideas.
