  1. When you have the big fronts you dont need the rears at all, i know this cause i had a line lock switch which stops the fluid going to the rears completely & realised i had had it turned off for months but made no difference. as for the same size brakes on the rear, not sure if the new ones do but it can't be a bad thing to improve the brake performance. i don't know if you have ever driven a car with race brakes but i'll never own another car without performance brakes! even if its a gutless POS it makes driving soo much safer.
  2. better than talking about washing machines & kitchen appliances
  3. v8 racing: there are valves that adjust the "brake bias" from front to rear ie: you can have only the rears braking if you want. this is for altering which treads are doing all the work depending on tread levels etc & how much weight is on the rears. full tank of gas requires more rear braking to keep it balanced. road cars are something like 60 or 70% front braking, utilities like utes (bounty, courier etc) are 60% rear for loading & towing which makes it scary when unloaded & having to stop in a real hurry. you may as well pull on the hand brake!
  4. what is the problem if they do cross? if mine crossed, which they have not done in a couple of years, i simply wouldn't sell the fry & would destroy them.
  5. it was not "a dig", i was confused as you commonly state the "risks of hybridisation" of africans breeding in community tanks. then you state you breed dragon bloods which are hybrids, excepted or not they are still hybrids. you explained your view on the differences between dragon bloods & other hybrids. as you stated before, these discussions can go on forever. just keep in mind, because you think one thing, that may not be what others think & most of the information in this hobby is purely someones opinion which can vary greatly from one to another. what?????    who & what are you talking about & what conspiracy theory am i missing? I'm not trying to "start" anything, you would know clearly if that was the case. I was merely dicussing the topic as it evolved. Have you had this discussion with others before?
  6. not confused at all, i now know what dragon bloods are. If you have read as many posts as i have from ryan saying how bad hybrids are you would question this when that same person breeds hybrids deliberately. All i have done is ask a question looking for an answer so i can more understand. I have dragon bloods & am not worried about hybrids, if i ended up with hybrid fry i would get rid of them but thats my stance on it. Does it make hybrids acceptable if you line breed a few generations & give them a different name? Maybe dragon bloods should be referred to as designer fish rather than hybrids. For me its about simulating the lakes of africa with its natural inhabitants & thats how i'll continue & may keep a few "designer fish" for asthetic purposes.
  7. You have got a foot in both camps though? :-?
  8. i have an old ss thats around 400hp & everything on it is after market, they are custom wilwoods & discs are same diameter as the supercar rotors. the new commies have DBA brakes. as for the large calipers/rotors, it reduces "brake fade". I have run mine around pukekohe in full trim & no matter how many laps i do the braking is the same as the first lap. standard brakes get too hot & loose braking capabiliteis.
  9. i had the same thing. i inherited a deaf white male from my nana when she went to Aussie. Its was the other way round. He was huge & would get my smaller female into a corner & bash her until someone got involved. he would then meeoow like only a deaf cat could & was a general pain in the butt. we never did sort it out, fortunately Nan came back & took back the cat,all be it6 months later! oh & i forgot to mention, he only had 3 legs. he got hit by a car & had one amputated. :-?
  10. that is soo cool, just like me stripping my africans but on a 10:1 scale. Africans in a ice cream container, arowanas in a river!
  11. it would, my ss has 330mm rotors & 4 pot wilwoods & they stop the 1800kg so fast my eyes feel like they are popping out. those probably would make you loose your eyes if you could get a smartcar travelling fast enough!
  12. i'm very surprised you have & breed dragon bloods ryan. You seem to me to be very outspoken about fry from fish that breed in community tanks should not be sold etc as they "may be" hybrids or cannot be sure they are not & yet you have & breed these fish that are confirmed hybrids. Just my observation
  13. it would be possible to create, smart cars body parts are plastic panels that simply clip on & off. You can get different patterened panels or create your own patterns etc.
  14. I want a smart car! Smamboghini is my favourite! Standard Smart car Smorvette Smaudi Smamboghini Smorche Smorche Targa & Smerrari
  15. what's the story with dragon blood peacocks? Are these hybrids of other peacocks?
  16. my clowns thrive with the africans
  17. i don't see anywhere that tells me where you are?
  18. my axolotyls get handled all the time by my kids. they are fine. I'll part with my axys if you want them.
  19. don't want to get to confusing for the new comer we are trying to help, pretty sure those are in the "New World" gallery to but can't be sure as i know very little about them myself also.
  20. have a look on these to galleries for info on these specific species, you will learn alot about the conditions each fish needs then ask questions at your desire africans http://www.cichlid-forum.com/articles/a ... allery.php south americans http://www.cichlid-forum.com/articles/n ... allery.php
  21. are you intending africans or south americans?
  22. i haven't waded through the other posts but i got white spot on a fish from my lfs & got rid of it by dosing white spot cure as directed then did a 60% water change & repeated dose the next day. I did that for four days, white spot gone & never seen again!
  23. i see a bit of brown algae on the coral in the first pick, i'd be looking to see if that could be the issue.
