    a few years ago some randoms came in , i use to have one i think they wer synodontis membranaceus or something that looks very similar , they got pretty large

    are they eating much now? when they start refusing food i would just turn of heat lamps of and let them be over the winter

    if there still eating than i kept feeding, they will get to the point where they just wont be intrested in food at all , thats when id turn of all heat lamps and let them chill over the winter months.

    never been captive breed as far as i know maybe in a muddy pond , herd they can lay a million eggs haha crazy! red tails are apprently migrant spawner's, traveling huge distances reach their spawning grounds....mite be same with shovelnoses , so i doubt this will ever happen here in nz anyway erhmmm bullheads anyone..

    Hovabator Incubator Anyone fill the bottom tracks with water? im just putting eggs in container, with damp vermiculite, seems to be ok. does anyone poke any holes in there containers to allow some air flow?
