  1. thank you, looks like it....looking at google i dont think ive ever seen one before, was outside and it just came fluttering down and landed on me
  2. train the dog to fetch.....fetch doesnt mean chewing and eating the ball  my staffy cross will catch/fetch or whatever and bring it straight back. But if i leave the ball lying around sooner or later she will find a spare minute or 2 and good by tennis ball.
  3. if the balance in your tank is good then snails should'nt multiply like crazy and no reason for algae either. overfeed just a little bit = more snails and or algae trumpet snails are pretty cool, got a feeling they have live babies which probably explains why they can be so prolific given the chance.
  4. cool trying to picture it how smalls the hole in bottom of cone and how far down past roof does it go? so bugs just drop in cone?, or fan above light aswel
  5. im thinking of putting my young whistling tree frogs outside to.. . and i had a vision of a light in there at night and all these bugs flying in 5mm mesh should be about perfect as long as the frogs have enough size on them so they cant get through the mesh, i suppose not many moths will get in a 5mm hole either though...hmm
  6. sweet so outside you have which mesh? I suppose fly screen is perfect. I just need bigger vents = more air flow still im sure i could find a use for a 5mm mesh
  7. dunno whay  smallish enclosure outside for my bd during the day. maybe vents on indoor setup etc so for native's, just go flyscreen inside then just standard 12mm square netting on outside? pretty sure what Alan mentioned is going to be perfect
  8. the flat sieves/frypan splatter things are all fine mesh to i think and the plastic canvas looks good to but I really need wire or something thats atleast mouse proof. have seen a rat or 2 here in the past but dogs dont seem to find them anymore
  9. sounds like the go will have to check that out mice are just to smelly for my liking. ive looked in $2 shop, warehouse, briscoes etc but no sieves with big holes
  10. really needs to be wire so crickets, mice and rats etc cant chew through it
  11. stainless is to flash for here  havent started the enclosure yet, may mesh sides out completely. + another enclosure, that gets to hot, may rip out fly screen mesh and redo vents... the mesh out of my old hovabator incubator is what got me thinking.....but it seems to be hard to find in shops?
  12. Im looking for some mesh as per title, just for a vent or 3 on an enclosure. hardware shops ive asked werent much help? something small enough to stop mice but also allow good air flow. fly screen mesh is ok but i want to try something else.... cheers
  13. Not sure why you say there would be some very unhappy people? thats life, most people would probably just think good on ya imo price could almost go up. $4-500 is fair. anything less and production costs will likely make it a waste of time. I dont think you will sell all that many more even @ say $200 each. Probably just a few more to people who arnt really geared up for them.
  14. maybe he used a shipping container fridge could fit a few eggs in one of them lol
  15. i suspect overseas they do both in one. inbred for colours? much like purebred dogs...
  16. congrats on the eggs. bds look very nice from the crystal ball i saw red to red breeding would be nice imo maybe easier said than done though not sure about price, but suspect you could get a bit more for them. Or just the norm and have less trouble moving them..
  17. theres goes a finger they're amazingly accurate.....you just need to hope they aim for the meat not the fingers  probably wouldnt recommend to try this one at home though
  18. hungry turtles  but then the fish breeding was so fascinating i got hooked on that for a while and the turtles didnt really get all that much if any that i bred
  19. pretty sure you will find the medical stuff is a completely different company and they send the maggots to a lab to be sterilized then onto the hospitals etc. I could be wrong though, maybe there is a couple of companies who supply them.
  20. i think i will wait another day or so...never had a problem until now and the plan i was on is no longer available so maybe worth holding onto. I managed to borrow a tstick today so im back in my seat tonight
  21. I had a dream..................one day it may come true
  22. anyone want to share there opinions on isps? im with slingshot and my broadband stopped working over 2 weeks ago, isp fixed a fault in the first week but still not working  i phoned and said not working...lady goes ohhhhh your broadband disconnected (no reason why but atleast it sounded like she was onto something). told me it would be another 5days and said i would get 1 months compensation and she would put in formal complaint, that takes it until yesterday given we had all the stats etc. ring this morning and still no answers or reason for it not working but maybe in next couple of days  to top it off they only gave me 75% off this months bill which isnt alot anyway. comp says connected to local but cant get on broadband (no ppp light on modem). dial up ok but new computer doesnt even have dialup modem so using an old computer on dial up and ive just about had enough.
  23. somthing needs to change...ive only ever seen the list that was on nzhs and that was a joke, spelling mistakes and no where near complete. If the issue keeps getting ignored i cant see things getting any better for us hobbyists and or the authorities.
