  1. Yea they wont produce or will stop doing so if theyre not happy, so your doing something rite. She be rite depending on her upbringing  Is amazing how many they "can" produce, my 3 year old just started laying this year, 7 clutches later she still looks like she has another in the tank , not one fertile from her. 28 was the biggest clutch.
  2. Yea not too fussed, I somehow dont think the livefood would worry me though. But then again when I do weigh up the amount of live food my lot eat in general it hardly makes economic sense. I enjoy the breeding but consider that a faiure, something to work on with the couple of beardies I still have.
  3. Any luck with those red devils yet? Ive had well over 100 eggs this season.................less than a doz hatch. Beat that
  4. Very hard to say, as it sounds like you have things setup correct. If its eating something every day then I wouldnt stress too much. Is he/she alert/bright eyed? Maybe just sick of locusts, variety is key. I feed crickets as the staple. Also cockroaches, locusts or slaters atleast once a week. Do you have a water bowl? does it use it? wouldnt hurt to mist once a day especially if its not eating much greens or bathing in the water bowl.
  5. i thought the spots were the result from them being crossed with normal bns in the past. few years ago the goldens were just that, golden.
  6. I think prime just get the rights to certain matches They seem to have had the first 2 ODI's of the Chappell Hadlee series. But not today.
  7. If the world was so black and white. Id have to say a few of the smartest people at school, are the most retarded I know when it come's to life skills. We all live in a beautiful world, every day every day. Hmmmm first beer ive had in a while, i think im getting retarded in here
  8. I thought the cricket was going to be on prime again Just wondered if it was possible to view it online?? good excuse to have a couple of beers
  9. I think thats rather narrow minded lmsmith. Even as a people  Grammar and spelling is important I agree, but more so in formal discussion. Yes some use txt and slang or whatever which can be a bit much for some, but thats another issue. Grammar is definitely not my strong point and after reading how much it means to some on here. I'll work on it I suppose. But to judge people, as it seems you do in regards to their grammar and spelling. I think is very sad.
  10. Im actually surprised at how little I get corrected, not that I really want to be. As long as the message is clear she be rite imo. I think some of the little corrections people point out are more of a smart ass reply, then a helping hand. I dont mind free tutoring, but not really what im here for. Why some get so wound up over someone else's mistakes. I really do not understand at times.
  11. maybe i meant it was to easy not to listen...
  12. Unfortunately i didnt always listen in school. it was to easy. sports, science, girls and maths i did enjoy but not enough to stick around. doesnt look like im dyslexic, maybe im not that special after all.
  13. dam just lost my post i was going to edit. I think its rude to pull up peoples spelling, especially on a forum when it doesnt really matter imo. As long as we can understand it. I dont think im dyslexic but i couldnt even remember what it meant until i just googled it
  14. I have read in the past that drafts are not good for lizards. Warm draft i imagine is better than a cool one but still. The temps you give above are not bad but i think you will find just a heat lamp down one end (with thermostat even better). Will provide a better temp gradient. Cool end around 20C would be ideal imo
  15. what lights are in there? I use a fluro and a spot light down one end for heat. But for young frogs no basking bulb at all here just constant 22-24C and im starting to wonder if the adults really need it either. As they hardly ever sit up under the basking lamp.
  16. baby fogs  how cute. Very nice tank. No need for a pump. Just do waterchanges before the water goes yellow. More the merrier just use aged water or clean water from a trough etc
  17. so axolotls are the problem now?
  18. Mine just dig into the sediment on the bottom of the pond, i dont worry about them and barely see them over winter if at all. If they cant handle it then they wouldnt be out there. Maybe different in the South Island but i think your better to let them be. Must be fun having to fish out the straw An aquarium heater could cause trouble as will create a warm current/patch i would imagine
  19. Yep i find it realtively easy to tell. Like most reptiles they normally laze around sunning or eating. But when ready to lay they become more active searching out a place to lay. They seem to like been out in the garden and if they find a spot they like (easy to dig soil) will lay almost straight away. Can put a cage in garden and leave there for a few hours etc. Just dont leave them roaming or take your eyes off them if not confined. Amazing how far they can travel before you notice it, even on those little legs Could even just make up a big bin with dirt in the bottom and add them to that for an hour each day when you think theyre about to lay..
  20. prob best to stick to the 3 you have, perfect number for that size pond. You will have trouble getting rid of the babies.
  21. and or you dont need a laying area. as long as they can bask. and when they want to lay just put them in the garden, they get restless and will be looking for place to dig when wanting to lay. Not ideal but easy enough to manage for only a couple of turtles, if your onto it. = more water in pond and possibly cleaner as they dont drag the substarte in. Just another idea.
