yeah they look like the same sex. whats the best thing to do? get a male? should i put them in the main tank would that help? should i get rid of one female?

thanks sharn for the advice. I mite keep the kribs in the community tank then just to be safe. Yeah well one mac seems a lot darker in colour than the other one which seems more yellow. but the darker one tends to sit up on top of the filter, so maybe hes stressed? his fins arent clamped or anything tho. and they arent very big yet either.

no but i will ring right now and ask for pairs if its not too late already. cost plus 10%. 10% wouldnt even cover the GST??

yes, ive ordered 10 of them for Animal Antics. they will be $11.90 or $11.50. i cant remember exactly, but somewhere around that. They should arive wednesday/thursday.

ha i know but unfortunately im running out of space, need a bigger house. what about just cockatoos, macmasteris, 2 kribs, and 1 ram?

I have no idea what sex they are. im not even 100% if they are even macmasteri, they seem quite young looking. would it be possible to get u to come over one time to get ur opinion on them? i was thinking of a harem of cocktoos as well. would they be ok with a ram or two? and a pair of kribs?

ok thanks. i have a 220L 3ft and 220L 4ft. the 4ft is narrow maybe about 40cm wide which is why its the same literage as the 3ft. i was planning on putting them in the 3ft, which is indeed densely planted. I have already got 2 apistos, ive been told they are the macmasteri pisto. they are in a planted 20L holding tank, until i transfer them to the 3ft. i was planning on transferring all the fish at the same time?

Good stuff ant Im quite a fan of the apistos, and wouldnt mind setting up a tank of them. is it possible to house say cockatoos and aggazziis in the same tank, would they interbreed or anything? how many of each type do u need to keep together so theyre happy?

do the rocks need to be piled high? (some ppl recommend this to divide territories etc) it seems dangerous to do this as some cichlids like to dig. and also the glue mite come unstuck? I think ill use a mixture of flat and round rocks but just keep them on the low side!

Now i want to set my new tank (220L) up with african cichlids. so im thinking lots of rocks. Do i use real ones or fake ones? coz real ones will be real heavy? but then fakes ones will not stay in place? I dont know!

Ive always got cuts on my hands and I work in fish tanks all day! I have a cut on my leg that is taking a long time to heal.......its not weepy or itchy tho and its not a open cut anymore.........oh dear maybe i should invest in some "nether regions" gloves?

Someone knocked the plug to the heater fot the betta fry (5days old) so they were in 16degree water they seemed ok but will this affect them? the water has been slowly rising up again.
