Ok i will ring and ask the supplier (im getting them in for the pet shop i work at), i did ask the supplier but he was pretty vague about the sp of the water, just called it brackish.
I will keep them in a species only tank more than likely.
Thanks for your help and if u think of anything else i should know please let me know!
I want to keep these fish as happy as possible.
The tank is 150l, has harlequins and neons. they are fine. the plecs are lasting a month or 2 before they die.
Been set up for about a year. just never had any luck with plecos. all the ammo and nitrite levels are 0.
Im posting this on behalf of someone so i havent actually seen the algae but her plecos keep dying and she thought it was the red algae but i tested her water and her pH was like 6.2 so i suggested that it may have been the pH killing them not the algae but she is planning on investing in some flying foxes to help eat the algae.
i have an algae in my tank that looks like cobwebs.
The tank has only been running a about 6 weeks, has got lots of plants that are growing well, with a fluval 2 internal filter and light is on about 10hrs a day. has 2 kribs in it. tis a 2ft tank 60x30x30cm.
Does anyone know wat this is?
In my CF1000, in the bottom i have the black balls, in the next one i have noodles and the sponges are in the top one.
this works for me, i hardly eva had to clean it and the way i figure it that if the corser stuff is on the bottom then it catches the sludge rather than clogging up the sponges.
well the only thing ive bred purposely was fighters and that was cool to watch, the kribs bred by themselves in my community tank and i didnt even know they were there till i had to empty the tank and even then i didnt know wat they were till they gott bigger!
at the mo they are in the tank at work (84L) they are 4cm long, i will be buying them for my 220L tank wen i can afford to get them and all the other fish i want at the same time.
they seem to be settling down a bit now so must be getting used to the tank slowly.
if i put them with johannii do u think they will crossbreed?
i cant help u with ur stand situation but i may be able to help u with the poly......its only thin approx 10mm but wat if u put 2 layers down? can u do this?
I have my male fighter in with black widows, breeding pair of kribs, 12 BNs, 2 pictus cats, rummy nose tetras, neons, 1 danio and sum platies and hes been there for like 6 months and i have had no probs.
But thats just me
