It surprising how much crap sits in your sand. I syphoned out half of mine last night into a bucket, let it settle over night crap galore!

Mine sits at 27 constant with 100mm fan angled at water surface, same as wasp has. Drops to 25.5 at night.

I agree with reef and wasp, you should have at least 2 - 4 thou ready to burn before you start a successful marine. I just added up all my spending in the last 12 months and it came to $ 3100.00 this is for a basic 200 lt four foot tank, no sump. I get great colours with sps and good lps growth but still consider my tank very basic. AND that $ total doesnt include live rock, corals or fish !!! just gear If you cant afford the gear at once just buy it slowly and build it up till you have it all. Then set it up Test kits alone set you back a mint at first

Doubled my skimmer output lasted a month or so and now its back to normal :-? quess the u.v + skimmer did a clean up.

The frame work holding the luminarcs is mint! but can you raise and lower it when you add new bulbs ect? I'm asking cause I might copy your idea Mine hang from the ceiling now but I'd like something like your setup instead on my new tank

That is exactly what I have. One 100mm fan on a 45 deg angle that creates surface disturbance, switched on and off by a Nema 4x temp controller. My temp only shifts by 1 deg a day 8)
