  12. Two options. Leave it and just keep wiping it off/syphoning it out, and it will eventually go away as the tank matures and the plants start to grow (Diatoms are always gunna be there from the start anyway so its normal) Or, if its really bad you could totally re-start the tank but i would use option 1
  13. Daily water changes wont harm your fish no. I do daily water changes of up to 80% on some of my tanks! hope this helps
  14. Thanks Hands. I will be there on Sunday night definately (will have my own car over there) and will probably be there on the Saturday too, but need to confirm
  15. So whats the Final itinerary? I think its changed a couple times so thought id ask, as i will probably be around on Sunday night for Dinner and Auction (is it that night? lol)

  17. Hello from Te Puke! Welcome to the Forums.
  18. I can't offer any help as to what may be wrong, but make sure your water is clean, and the filter is working properly. Good luck
  19. People often think their plant is melting away, where the old leaves are actually just dieing off, usually because of a move between tanks. Stem plants arent 'dead' until the stem has rotted away. Even if it looses all its leaves, keep it in the tank and see if it will grow. Ive never had a problem with cabomba, and i find it does well in low or high light, ferts or no ferts, co2 or no co2  Its one of those grows in anything, hard to kill plants for me.....
  20. Well it was a great Funeral, and was great to meet up with everyone again and hear about Alans awesome (and hilarious!) life. Cya Al
  21. hmmmmm, well could be either i guess. Better to be safe, rather than sorry, so id destroy them ASAP and then maybe you could even ask DOC to identify them (take the Bodys into them or something?) and if they decide they arent Gambusia then go get more
  22. Gambusia are cold water fish arent they? id say they are Wild guppies
  23. LOL Caryl My Killies dont seem to know its spring time, havent had many eggs lately. mind you, theres only two species with mops at the moment  As for the Guppys and Platys, i know how you feel! mine sure are pumping the babys out!!! I think my GBA's might know its spring time though(which is wicked!) as they are showing breeding behaviour, and both Females have HUGE bellies that i can literally see the eggs in! Sweeeeet
