  1. if you don't mind having any plants decimated extremely quickly then apple snails would be perfect!! :lol: i have 5 of them and 2 lots of eggs. amazing to watch
  2. lol, he hasn't started yet. we have boiled eggs and hotcross buns for breakfast tomorrow, then a little later in the day, he gets more eggs. then he'll start eating them. will keep him busy over the holidays, lol.
  3. not yet mark as it just went on display in the mall today. i will see if we can get it once they pull them down.

Bailey entered a colouring competition at the local mall, and won 1st prize in the 8-9yrs age group the little pack of 4 eggs he is holding, he got for entering the competition. the prize pack has a 1kg egg, a 10pk of choc bunnies, 2 65g eggs and a $20 warehouse voucher. needless to say, he is absolutely thrilled

  8. how on earth have you managed to pull that one off??? i am sick of the BBA in my tanks. have a siamese algae eater, but i can't put him in a couple of my tanks to clean it as he would get picked on / eaten.

  12. ummm... what sort of effects would the changes in air pressure and altitude have on a fish, for that length of travel?
  13. nicely said Caper also, if you need to take a bit of time out, your more than welcome to pop round for a coffee and a chat i went through a period of fish losses. i was losing 1 fish every day for about 2 months. they were only guppies, but at the time, they were pretty much the only fish i had, so it was truly gut wrenching to be losing my babies. i nearly gave up then myself. even got to the point where i wrote up a post to get rid of all of my left over fish and equipment. i decided not to submit it, and i'm glad i didn't
  14. for a leisurely stroll, take a wander around Pukekura Park up to the Bowl of Brooklands and the Brooklands zoo. you can even hire a little row boat and go out on to the lake

  17. you could try microworms. i fed mine on powdered flake and they ate it. spose it was better than starving
  18. Can i put 1-2 Chocolate striped catfish, about 8cm, in a 4ft tank with a Black ghost knife and a Clown knife (both approx 15-20cm)? all of these fish are nocturnal and, from what info i could find, have very similar dietary requirements. TIA
  19. if its only the bigger ones, then i'd say its probably the shark.
  20. i wouldn't rule out the bgk either. they are a carnivore fish.
